Congratulations to Daniela for the performance and especially the
resistance she put in her game against Sharapova - she made me to
eat my words, but to be honest - I like it!!! To play first set for
41 minutes and second more than for an hour, hmm I haven't expected
that in my wildest dreams...
I saw the whole match and it was great - I felt like in old times
when I was following matches of Karina Habsudova - I could not hold
my breath. Daniela did not deserve to lose in two sets, she just
needed one more ball in the most critical situations. On the other
hand, I don't think Maria played her best game (it was a shadow of
her performance in Wimbledon) although Daniela forced Maria to make
mistakes as well. In any case, Daniela's game, attitude, resistance
and performance are very, very encouraging for the next season - she
is in the right direction and she should have chance to beat some
Russians in the next year. She should be happy because the Russian
express has not run away yet. My prediction is that Maria will lose
within next two rounds and maybe there will be a non-Russian winner
in this tournament after all...Let's wait and see...

I went to Zurich and saw part of the Masha-Dani match!was great
tennis!!!!!!!I'd already seen Dani play before,thought she played very well
yesterday,well just look at the score line.She played great agressive
tennis,but during key points Masha was just too good.BTW; Masha is really
impressive LIVE, and her serve, god,just serving many aces,when she needed
to.Took some pictures of Dani and other players so they'll be on my site
somtime soon.
Was a tight match with some great rallies:)
