Across the crowded room, Daniela Hantuchova, a 22-year-old Slovakian player,
was busy sending text messages to friends while Tricomi worked on her long
blond hair. He reframed her bangs to prevent them from flopping in her face
while she plays; then he did his signature cutting technique to add volume to
a cut in which he tosses strips of hair with one hand and randomly snips with
the other; finally, he added a sexy wave to the ends of her hair with a curling
iron.
"I decided to have my hair cut here because I'm going out tonight and I want it
to look good," Hantuchova said. "So far, it looks pretty good to me."
