Hewitt pulls out of Italian Open

Lleyton Hewitt's hopes of regaining his world number
one ranking from Andre Agassi have been dealt a blow
after doctors ordered him to pull out of next week's
Italian Open tournament in Rome.
Hewitt's management said he had been told to rest and
would now make his season clay court debut at the German
Open in Hamburg on May 12.
He will then play for Australia with Wayne Arthurs in
the World Team Cup in Dusseldorf the following week.
Last weekend Hewitt lost his world number one ranking
when 33-year-old Agassi claimed the US Clay Court
Championship title in Houston, Texas.
