[路透洛杉磯電]在周二進行的梅塞德斯奔馳(賓士)杯(MercedesBenzCup)首輪
比賽中，頭號種子休伊特(夏韋特)以6-07-5擊敗美國選手馬米特(馬密治)，開
始了自己的美國硬地賽季之旅。

自從上月在溫布爾登(溫布頓)錦標賽首輪出局後，這還是澳洲名將休伊特首次
出戰。第一盤他的凶狠抽殺使對手無力招架。

馬米特在第二盤如夢方醒，全力拼殺，但2002溫網冠軍休伊特關鍵時刻把握住
機會，拿下本場勝利。他第二輪將迎戰另一名美國選手喬伊斯(MichaelJoyce)。
