Just got off the phone with Bobcats general manager Rod Higgins, who
confirmed the team has a deal in principle to sign former Sacramento Kings
forward Dominic McGuire.
It's no secret coach Larry Brown likes a variety of athletic bigs. I also
wonder -- and this is my conjecture -- if adding another forward would make
it easier to move Boris Diaw if a cap-saving trade comes along.
Also spoke with a source who confirmed Raymond Felton is close to a deal with
the Knicks, and a sign-and-trade with the Bobcats is not entirely dead. But
don't make too much of that. The chance of a sign-and-trade was described as
"remote.''
