Patrick Ewing no longer in running for Bobcats head coach
According to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, Michael Jordan has told
Patrick Ewing he has been eliminated as an option in the Charlotte Bobcats'
ongoing search for a new head coach.
After an interview with Charlotte management, owner Michael Jordan personally
reached out to Patrick Ewing to tell him he's been eliminated as a candidate
to coach the Bobcats, a league source told Yahoo! Sports.
Charlotte is waiting to see whether it will win the NBA draft lottery on
Wednesday night and get the chance to draft Kentucky's Anthony Davis before
it begins a second round of interviews for the opening, sources said.
I don't think this is some huge relief that some fans may treat this as, but
he definitely wasn't real high on my list, considering the other candidates'
qualifications.
As the coaching process continues for the team that won seven games this past
season, they are still considering names like Jerry Sloan, Mike Malone, Brian
Shaw, Nate McMillan, among others.
