Several signs over the past 24 hours could point towards Charlotte picking Harrison Barnes on Thursday. The Bobcats are said to be entertaining an offer from Cleveland for the No. 4 and 24 picks, and new coach Mike Dunlap indicated today that the team is making it a priority to add more quality 3-point shooters. Charlotte was impressed with Barnes' workout last week, but choosing him No. 2 overall will be viewed by many as a reach with guys like Thomas Robinson, Bradley Beal and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist on the board. Even so, Barnes is potentially a piece to build around; a rangy athlete with a silky jump shot. If coach Dunlap wants to improve the team's 3-point shooting, going with Barnes would make a lot of sense. If the Bobcats do in fact like the athletic 6-foot-8 swingman enough to take him, the deal with the Cavs could be tough to pass up. Not only would it give them a second first-rounder, it'd likely lead to less criticism if they take the North Carolina product at No. 4 rather than No. 2. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Steve Kyler of Hoopsworld adds to the speculation by reporting that sources are telling him Cleveland has an offer on the table of Nos. 4 and 24 in the first round for No. 2. Kyler joins the list of writers who believe the Cavs want Bradley Beal and they need to move up to No. 2 because Washington plans to get him at the No. 3 spot.
