Cerro Porteno general manager Bernardo Balbuena has told setantasports.com
during an exclusive interview that Tottenham Hotspur are negotiating the
transfer of centre back Nelson Cabrera.

The director has revealed that his team’s captain Cabrera has been observed
by Spurs, whose representatives made the trip to South America in order to
start discussing a move last Sunday.
這位Bernardo Balbuena說他們球隊的隊長Cabrera受到了熱刺的觀察，而且熱刺也
已經派出代表前往南美洲洽談。
Juande Ramos is trying to strengthen his defence, after having brought
quality in more attacking areas with Giovani dos Santos and Luka Modric, and
Cerro Porteno star Cabrera, now coached by Spurs legend Ossie Ardiles,
appears to be the latest target for the North Londoners.
據報Ramos很想加強熱刺的防守，今年進攻面也已經採購了dos Santos和Modric
所以白鹿巷的新目標指向了現在在前熱刺球星Ossie Ardiles麾下的Cabrera。
“We’re discussing a transfer with Spurs and the deal is not concrete yet,”
Balbuena told setantasports.com. “They came on Sunday, along with an
Argentinian agent, to start to negotiate for the player.

“We are ready to sell him, but I can’t tell you how much Cabrera is rated
at. I know Tottenham are an important and big club so they have the means to

“It would be a massive step for the player, and this could open doors to our
club. It is not about a partnership between both clubs, just discussions
regarding the transfer of one single player.

我們球隊開一條與熱刺合作的未來道路。」
“To my mind an agreement could be reached, or not, during this week. There’
s another offer, from a Mexican club who are playing in the top flight.”

Balbuena has described the Spurs target as: “An inspirational captain,
graduated in business administration, who is very professional.”
他還補充Cabrera是個具有啟發性的隊長，而且非常專業。
South American sources claim Ardiles would be happy to see the 25-year-old
head for White Hart Lane after his successful spell at the club.
The Paraguayan team have previously sold other players to European clubs,
including former Newcastle midfielder Diego Gavilan and ex-Inter stopper
Carlos Gamarra.
