Jamie O'Hara believes our pre-season performances are sending out a signal of
intent ahead of the new season, which begins in less than a fortnight.

The midfielder netted the crowning goal of our success at the Feyenoord
Jubileum Tournament against Borussia Dortmund, and felt the 3-0 success was
the icing on the cake of a successful excursion in Rotterdam.

Now he is ready for the 2008/09 campaign to begin, and is confident we can
continue the form which has seen us win our last four friendly matches.

Jamie said: "Rotterdam was a good trip. All the lads have come together over
the last few weeks, pre-season's been really tough, but now we're at the
business end of it and looking forward to the start of the season.

"We've got a cracking squad for the coming season and there are a lot of
quality players who are all bonding well together.

returned from Spain, including out in Rotterdam, and it's been a joy just to
be involved."

Jamie also reserved special praise to 17-year-old Adam Smith, who was the
provider of his goal on Sunday.

Like Jamie, Adam is a product of our blossoming Academy and has a few wise
words of advice for the youngster.

The England Under-21 international added: "Adam's come in and done really
well. He's been brilliant in training and has really impressed everyone.

"He's a good lad and all the boys have really taken to him, and he was saying
to me what a great feeling it was for him and he can't imagine what it would
be like to play at The Lane.

"I just told him that if he keeps working hard, he'll get his opportunity,
