Kranjcar set for exit.
Another player set to leave White Hart Lane on loan in January is Niko Kranjcar
, who is attracting the interest of Scottish outfit Celtic.
Both player and club would prefer a permanent deal, but Celtic would be
wiling to take on the Croatian star’s ￡45,000 per week wages. It is thought
this could ease the possibility of a loan move going ahead in January.
However, the player would cost ￡6m to purchase outright and it appears
unlikely Celtic could afford this – which could put the ball back in the
court of reportedly interested clubs Everton and Newcastle.
Kranjcar is still admired by Harry Redknapp but the form of the likes of
Rafael van der Vaart, Gareth Bale and compatriot Luka Modric has seen the
former Portsmouth star moved to the fringes of the squad.
Former Celtic boss Gordon Strachan reportedly wanted to sign Kranjcar while
the midfielder was still at Hajduk Split, but should the Toffees 'and Magpies'
interest in the player be cemented with a formal offer a temporary move to
Celtic Park would appear less likely.

Yesterday’s reports that Niko Kranjcar could be on his way to Celtic on a
loan move is reportedly news to the Scottish club’s manager Neil Lennon.
The former Leicester midfielder stated that he has made no moves to bring the
Croatian to Parkhead, and nor has he made an approach for Real Mallorca
defender Ivan Ramiss, according to sport.stv.tv.
Lennon told Sky Sports: “I don't know anything about a move for Kranjcar.
He's a good player but I've had no contact with anyone at Tottenham.
"And the same goes for suggestions we're back in for Ramis. That's news to
me.”
