Six of the UK's biggest net providers have agreed a plan with the music
industry to tackle piracy online.
以上是這篇報導的前言
意思是
英國最大的6家ISP(Internet Service Provider，網際網路服務供應商)
已經同意一項與音樂工業合作防制線上盜版下載的計畫
The deal, negotiated by the government, will see hundreds of thousands of
letters sent to net users suspected of illegally sharing music.
But the music industry wants people's internet access cut off if they ignore
repeated warnings, something the web firms say they are not prepared to do.
這個由政府協調的協定指出
ISP將主動寄信給被懷疑是非法分享音樂檔案的使用者
不過音樂工業期盼「把忽略這些警告的用戶斷線」的要求
則是被這些ISP打了回票
BT, Virgin, Orange, Tiscali, BSkyB and Carphone Warehouse have all signed up.
以上這幾家ISP已經加入這個計畫了
British Music Right，英國的音樂智財權組織當然很歡迎這樣的發展
除了寄警告信之外，這份計畫也同時要求這些ISP
提出任何可避免非法分享的方法
以及發展合法的音樂服務
