The table as follows presents statistics showing the aspects of quality of life in five countries. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. Write report for a university lecturer describing the information below. You should write a minimum of 150 words. Country GNP per head (1982: US dollars) Daily calorie supply per head Life expecta ncy at birth (years) Infant mortality rates (per 1,000 live births) Bangladesh 140 1,878 40 132 Bolivia 571 2,086 50 124 Egypt 690 2,950 56 97 Indonesia 581 2,296 49 87 USA 13,160 3,652 74 12 The table provided unfolds the detailed information of four aspects of quality of life in five different countries, in which those aspects include GNP per head, daily calorie supply per head, life expectancy at birth, and infant mortality rates. Among these five countries, in the first three categories, the USA has the largest numbers while in the fourth one, infant mortality rates, the lowest. In detail, concerning GNP per head, the USA has the overwhelming number of 13,160, and Egypt occupies the second place, at 690, nearly one twentieth of the figure of America ; still, Bangladesh ranks the lowest, 140. Amazingly, there are nearly similar numbers between Bolivia and Indonesia, 571 and 581 respectively . In the second category, daily calorie supply per head, the figure of the USA surpassed slightly more than that of Egypt (3,652 and 2,950), whereas ensued by the other countries, Indonesia, Bolivia, and Bangladesh (2,296, 2,086, and1,878). Furthermore, adverting to the third facet, the trend is analogous to those statistics depicted in the previous items. The life expectancy at birth in Bangladesh is about 40, ranking the lowest country on this table; on the other hand, as our prophecy the highest life expectancy for people is the USA, at 74, roughly doubling the life span of Bangladesh. Plus, the life expectancy in Egypt, Bolivia and Indonesia is 56, 50, 49 individually. Compared with the information in the former three ones, statistics in the last one, illustrate a squarely reverse direction, from Bangladesh to the USA, the infant mortality rates presenting steady gradations from 132 to 12. The figures limpidly divulge the truth: the more civilized, the lower infant mortality; perhaps the poor sanitation and paucity of dietary nutrient caused by the low calorie supply are responsible for this phenomenon. Based on the information analyzed above, we can explicitly fathom that the GNP, the daily diet ingested and life expectancy hinge properly on the extent of civilization in a country; by contrast, the less developed, the higher rates of infant mortality. In comparison with other countries, America enjoys higher and more civilized living standards. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc), 來自: 218.161.24.114 ※ 文章網址: http://www.ptt.cc/bbs/IELTS/M.1397242128.A.47A.html
