Scouting Report:
Affeldt was thumped for eight runs by the Tigers last Monday night with two
home runs among 11 hits. He's been on the losing end of shutouts in his last
two starts, 5-0 to Cleveland and 8-0 to Detroit. He went six innings in each
game, surrendering 12 earned runs. Affeldt seems to have a penchant for one
bad inning -- i.e., a four-run fourth against the Indinas and a five-run
third against the Tigers.
Wang looks to bounce back after a rough start against the Red Sox on Monday
at Fenway Park. Wang allowed seven runs in six innings, taking the loss
against Boston. He had allowed two runs in 16 innings in his two previous
starts, both wins. Wang allowed five runs in six innings in a no-decision
against Kansas City on April 11.
