Free-agent left-hander CC Sabathia has reached agreement with the Yankees on
a seven-year contract worth approximately $160 million, according to a major-
league source.

The contract is the largest ever awarded to a starting pitcher.

Sabathia agreed to the deal Tuesday night after meeting with the Yankees for
the third time in three days.

Sabathia went 17-10 last season with a 2.70 ERA in 253 innings as a member of
the Indians and Brewers.
