OFFICIAL: Espanyol Sign Shunsuke Nakamura

Shunsuke Nakamura will fly into Barcelona in July to undergo a medical and
sign his contract after agreeing the move to Espanyol...

Espanyol have confirmed that they have completed the signing of Shunsuke
Nakamura on a free transfer and that he will be presented in July after a
medical at the club.

The 30-year-old Japanese international agreed a deal to join the Blanc i Blau
after turning down the chance to return to his native country and sign for
Yokohama Marinos.

"The player Shunsuke Nakamura, who has been playing for Celtic, has become a
new RCD Espanyol player, after reaching an agreement with the club," a
statement on the official website read.

"All that remains is for him to undergo the usual medical examination.
Nakamura will then sign a deal that will see him play for los Pericos for the
next two seasons.

"Then the player will probably arrive in Barcelona on July 10 to undergo his
medical before being presented and shown around the city a few days before
pre-season starts with the team."

Nakamura becomes Espanyol's second official signing in the space of two days
after the club confirmed that they had captured striker Ben Sahar from
Chelsea on Monday.
