No Czech return for Nedved

Pavel Nedved won't follow the example of Juventus teammate
Lilian Thuram by returning to international football.
Both players retired after Euro 2004, but the defender opted
to make himself available again to the French national side
earlier this month.
The Czech Republic were hoping to tempt Nedved to do the same,
but the midfielder has no desire to add to his previous 83 caps.
"Pavel hasn't changed his decision. Pavel will not play
international games due to his fitness concerns," Czech boss
Karel Bruckner told CTK.
"I spoke with him on Wednesday. He confirmed to me his previous
statement that he has given up playing for his country."
The former Golden Ball winner's agent has also confirmed that
Nedved will not appear for his country again – even with the
2006 World Cup Finals on the horizon.
"Pavel considered a return," stated Zdenek Nehoda.
"But his decision is final and he hopes that there will be
no more speculation on the matter."

“At my age, I had to make up my mind once for all; I thought it over and
my final choice is that I'm not playing for the National team anymore.”
After the Supercoppa match against Inter last Saturday night,
Pavel Nedved had promised he would announce his decision on
whether he would continue to play for coach Bruckner's team,
informing the very coach first and then making it public.
The midfielder kept his word and today he confirmed
he's not playing with the Czech Republic National team outifit anymore:
“I'm very sorry for the National team – he continued – but I think
this is the right choice. I want to dedicate all my efforts to Juventus.”
