Album: Numb (麻醉) Artiste: Kit Chan Label: Cinepoly Genre: Cantonese pop Kit goes all lovey-dovey May 14, 2001 By Elisa Chia Kudos to Kit! The local powerhouse churns out yet another classic album. Contrary to the album title, you'll be far from Numb about Kit's latest offering. Like many (not all, I must admit) of her previous 9 Mandarin and 3 Cantonese albums, this one leaves you yearning for more. Hongkongers would especially be able to relate to it, as 3 of the 10 Canto-pops are actually theme songs of their native blockbusters, including Healing Hands Season 2 (in which Kit acted, too). That aside, Kit magically takes you into her musical world. A departure from her usual forceful, passionate approach, the award-winning powerhouse goes lovey-dovey and breezy -- reminding you of her awesome performances in the musicals Snow Wolf Lake and The Legend. The only nitpick is that, like her other Cantonese albums, this one still lacks originality. A heavy portion is made up by translated tracks from her previous Mandarin albums, although a bonus Mandarin track, Hope, is included especially for the local market. But one can be certain that her upcoming concert would boost a balance between Cantonese and Mandarin, if not more of the latter. Now, that's good news for Singaporean fans. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.twbbs.org) ◆ From: 61.217.53.247
