by Doing the Things That Count
  在一支充滿得分好手的隊伍中，Kenny Thomas 在作某些事情上扮演了很重要的角色。

  He occasionally makes a spectacular dunk that other players will admire. And
when he climbs the backboard especially high to secure an important rebound,
it can immediately raise the noise level in ARCO Arena another notch.
  他偶而會做出令其他球員讚賞的華麗灌籃。然而，當他跳到和籃板一樣的高度並抓下特

  On a team that has possessed scoring power over the years from a number of
different sources, what Thomas does best is play a role. And, there's nothing
wrong with that, he said, admitting he focuses most on defense and rebounding.

  Good basketball teams need role players, so Thomas tries to leave his ego in
the locker room each game and simply roll with whatever happens.

  Other things would include pursuing the basketball when a shot doesn’t pass
through the net. At every level he’s played, Thomas always has demonstrated a
propensity to rebound. He did it in college, averaging 8.4 boards in the 123
games he started during four seasons at New Mexico, the best four-year stretch
(102-30 record) in school history.
  其它事情包括當投籃沒進時，他總是會去追那顆球。在打球時的每一層面，Thomas總是
展現自己生性喜歡搶籃板的特性。他在大學時期做了它，而在新墨西哥州的四個球季中，

  Thomas established a standard his senior season with the Lobos that he
matched three years ago with the Philadelphia 76ers. He averaged a double-
double both times, reaching double figures in points and rebounds for the
season.
  Thomas為他之前配合過三年的費城七六人隊，樹立了一個典範。在第三個球季，他平均
得分跟籃板都達到雙十的成績。

  He’s at it again this year since becoming the regular starter after Shereef
Abdur-Rahim suffered a broken jaw in late December. Thomas has averaged nearly
11 points and 10 rebounds through his first 49 games as a starter. His
consistency has helped the Kings win during that span when the team has gone 29
-20.
  自從SAR在去年12月因為下顎骨受傷後，他因此成為先發並再度在今年達到雙十的成績。
在成為先發後的前49場比賽，Thomas交出了平均將近11分及10籃板的成績。他穩定的表現
也幫助國王隊在這段期間打出29勝20負的成績。

  He's making a difference, insists teammate Bonzi Wells.
  他做了不同的決定，乃堅持留下隊友Bonzi Wells。

  “When Shareef went down, Kenny got extended minutes and he's been a double-
double guy ever since,” Wells said. “He's an excellent energy guy. He's a
great rebounder at both ends of the court and he’s real active on defense.”
  「當Shareef表現低潮的時候，Kenny得到更多的上場時間且總是能拿下雙十的成績。」
Wells說道。「他是一個優秀的人物，是一個出色的進攻及防守籃板好手，且在防守上一直
是積極的。」
