"I had great memories there, seven wonderful seasons," Stojakovic said. "I
still feel connected to the people and to the city. It'll always be special."
And you won't get an ounce of discord from Stojakovic, who had told The Bee a
day before the trade that he would have been perfectly happy finishing his
career with the Kings.
"I'm happy of course," Stojakovic said. "This is the NBA. This is a business,
and we know we cannot really complain. We play in an unbelievable league.
None of us should ever complain. All of our circumstances are unbelievable.
We are so blessed."
"It's normal to have those feelings, no matter how prepared you think you
are," he said. "You are human. You are stunned. But then a day or two later,
I understood that this happens. It's nothing personal with the Kings. I can't
be bitter. I will always have a great relationship with (Kings executives)
Geoff Petrie and Wayne Cooper. They drafted me. They gave me a chance. The
team we had, it was together for five years. It was time to rebuild, make
changes. Ron's happy, the Kings are happy and I'm happy. Life goes on."
Petrie said Stojakovic will be well-received at Arco and promised to seek out
his former star for a hug and a hello.
"He deserves it," Petrie said of the cheers. "He essentially came here as an
unknown and left much more than that. He's had a great career."
"It should be fun for him, a guy who meant so much to this team and the
history of success (here)," Miller said. "(The fan reaction) will make him
feel good, feel appreciated. Then he'll sit in the corner where he hit a lot
of threes, I'm sure."
"There are always high expectations," Stojakovic said. "It's the life we
live."
A life he loves, too.
事過境遷...衷心的祝福這位國王難以忘懷的過去...Peja~~~~~Stojakovic!(for three!)
