Two years ago - when Indiana put Ron Artest on the trade market - his agent
told The Post that if the Queensbridge native wasn't dealt to the Knicks,
he'd just opt out of the final year of his contract and sign with them as a
free agent.

兩年前，當溜馬將Ron Artest放進交易市場，他的經紀人即透過報導說道，如果出生於
皇后區土生土長的他，沒有被交易至尼克的話，他將選擇跳脫合約的最後幾年，且成為
自由球員。

Some dismissed the idea, but with that deadline approaching in June, Artest
says it's a possibility.

去除了一些構想，但在六月即將結束時，Artest說那是有可能的。


"No matter how much you think about it, it's going to present itself," Artest
- now with the Kings - said last nigh.

"There's so many things you have to take into consideration: The season, my
agent, the teams. It's definitely my decision, but you have to take advice."

Artest is earning $7.8 million this season and will make a relative-bargain
$8.45 million next year, but can opt out of that final season before free
agency starts on July 1.

Artest本季將賺取780萬，明年將來到845萬。但是在七月一號自由球員開始簽約之前，他
可以選擇在最後一季跳約合同。

With the Knicks over the salary cap, unless they do a sign-and-trade, they
could only offer him the mid-level exception for five years, so he'd have to
leave millions on the table.

在尼克超過薪資上限之下，除非以先簽後換的方式。不然就只能提供Artest一紙五年中產
的合約。如此一來，他就必須離開百萬年薪之列。
