Kings notes: Progress is being made offensively
想標題好累！
Paul Westphal was an accomplished scorer in his playing days and came to the
Kings with a reputation as an offensive-minded coach.
教頭在球員時代是個得分好手，而到了國王的他也被期許在進攻上有所建樹。
And even though the Kings have been without key offensive players Kevin
Martin and Francisco García for much of the season, the team has managed to
score well thus far.
即使少了兩大進攻箭頭KM和Garcia，國王的得分情況看來都還不錯。
"I think there's a lot of room for improvement and optimism," Westphal said
of the Kings' offense.

The Kings entered Friday night's game against New Jersey averaging 103.7
points, fifth in the NBA. Sacramento also was shooting 46.2 percent from the
field (12th in the league) and 37.1 percent from three-point range (seventh).

The Kings scored at least 100 points in 10 of their previous 11 games before
Friday night.

Westphal still will not publicly take any credit for the Kings' success on
the floor. The team is ahead of last season's scoring (100.6 points per
game), field-goal percentage (44.7) and three-point percentage (36.8).

For Westphal, the reason the offense continues to work is simple.

"Your offense always looks better when the ball's going in the basket,"
Westphal said. "I think that we have some players who complement each other

Since the Kings moved to Sacramento, the franchise has played a team with a
losing streak of 15 or more six times. The Kings are now 3-3 in those games,
ending a three-game skid in such games with Friday's 109-96 win.

Before Friday, the last time the Kings played a team on such a streak was
March 11, 1999. Sacramento lost in Los Angeles to the Clippers that night.
The Clippers had lost 17 in a row entering that game.

The last time the Kings had defeated a team struggling as badly as the Nets
was March 13, 1993, against Dallas, which had lost 17 consecutive games.

Still starting - Donte' Greene remained in the starting lineup against the
Nets even though Beno Udrih was able to play.

Udrih missed Wednesday's game against the New York Knicks because of the flu.
But Greene stayed in the starting lineup after what could easily be called
the best game of his career.

Greene tied his career high with 24 points and had career bests of five
assists and six blocks in the victory over the Knicks.

New look - WNBA fans attending games at Arco Arena will notice something
different in the rafters. The banners honoring the 2005 WNBA championship
team and retired jerseys of Ruthie Bolton and former general manager Jerry
Reynolds are no longer there.

It was announced last week that the Monarchs had ceased operations as Kings
ownership decided to focus on the NBA team. The WNBA hopes to find new
