Spencer Hawes picked one play to prove his point, but he could have picked a
dozen.

The Kings, he told the media after the team's fourth consecutive win came
110-105 over Indiana on Wednesday at Arco Arena, are proving formidable
largely because of their unselfishness.

With one-fifth of the Kings' schedule completed, the team many expected to be
the league's worst has a winning record (9-8) for the second time since early
in the 2006-07 season and has won seven of its last eight at home.

The winning ways haven't improved attendance, however, as the announced crowd

And while the Kings' schedule surely will be tougher in the weeks to come,
reserve point guard Sergio Rodríguez said the lessons learned on a night
like this are not easily forgotten.

With the Kings up 82-79 late in the third, Jones drew his fifth foul, and the
Kings temporarily were relieved of his relentless pressure.

Early in the game, the Pacers looked nothing like a team that had lost seven
of eight, besting the scrappy Kings in all the areas they'd recently
dominated.

Rookie forward Tyler Hansbrough set the tough-guy tone, frustrating Thompson
and other Kings while Indiana led 33-30 after the first quarter.

Evans scored 16 of his 26 points in the opening period, finishing the game
with six assists and five rebounds as well.

who was named the Western Conference Rookie of the Month on Tuesday. "He can
play in December too."

Donté Greene started yet again, with Westphal raving about his development
before the game but quick to limit his minutes when he committed four
turnovers.

And Udrih was simply too hot to ignore. He hit 4 of 8 shots, with all nine of
his points coming during a second quarter in which the Kings overcame a
10-point deficit to lead 60-57 at halftime.
