Donald Sloan knew the Kings liked his game after they worked him out twice
before last month's NBA draft.

在經過兩次選前測試後，Sloan知道國王喜歡他。


Though he had been promised nothing, the 6-foot-3 guard from Texas A&M
expected to be drafted by the Kings in the second round.

雖然球隊沒有給他承諾

但是Sloan認為國王第二輪應該會挑走他。

Those plans ended when Hassan Whiteside fell out of the first round and the
Kings used their second-round pick to draft the 7-footer from Marshall.

But after watching Whiteside become a King, Sloan received a call from the
team.

Sloan說國王選了Whiteside後，馬上給了他一通電話。


"After they took Hassan, they called immediately and said, 'Hey we didn't
think Hassan was going to slip this far,' " Sloan said. " 'We still want you.
We still like everything you've done, and if no one else takes you, you're
our guy. We're going to bring you in.' "

The Kings held true to their word, signing Sloan to a one-year free-agent
contract before he joined their NBA Summer League team.

國王實現了承諾，給了Sloan一份合約，在夏季聯盟還沒開打前。

Sloan, who averaged 17.8 points for the Aggies last season, describes himself
as "very attack-oriented" and said he prefers to set up his teammates on
offense.

The Kings need depth in the backcourt, which gives Sloan a chance to make an
impression in training camp.

Sloan heard from the Kings more than once on draft night. He said Portland
(34th pick) and the Los Angeles Lakers (43rd) were options, but when they
passed, the Kings called – right after the Lakers drafted Devin Ebanks at
No. 43.

"A lot of teams expressed interest but, at the same time, nobody like
Sacramento," Sloan said.

Sloan：「很多隊都想要我，但是國王最積極。」

Sloan played point and shooting guard at Texas A&M and will run the point for
the Kings in summer league.

他將在夏季聯盟擔任國王的主力控球。

Kings summer league coach Mario Elie would like Sloan to be more vocal on the
floor.

夏季聯盟執教Mario Elie希望Sloan能夠多說一點話。

"He's a quiet, reserved guy," Elie said. "But in order to run the point guard
position in the NBA, you've got to make sure you communicate with your
teammates and get them in the right position."

「他是很安靜，很受教的球員。」

Elie說

Kidding Cousins – Elie has praised the play of Kings first-round draft
choice DeMarcus Cousins more than once.

Elie稱讚表弟不止一次。


But that doesn't make the rookie center immune from a little ribbing.

但是這不表示表弟不能被取笑。

Elie has reminded Cousins he'll face Greg Monroe today when the Kings open
summer league play in Las Vegas against Detroit.

Elie提醒表弟今晚要面對的是Greg Monroe。

Monroe, selected two spots after Cousins at No. 7, was a player some analysts
and experts thought the Kings should take instead of Cousins.

Monroe可是當初一些專家認為國王應該跳過表弟選擇的人啊。

Elie also wants to see how Cousins deals with adversity.

Elie想看表弟如何面對困境。

"He thinks he gets fouled every play," Elie said. "And I said: 'No, DeMarcus,
you don't get fouled every play. Wait until (Monday).' "

「他覺得他每天都要一直被犯規，」

Elie說

「我跟他說：『表弟，等到比賽開始你就不會一直被犯規了。』」


Elie wondered if summer league officials might be quick with their whistles
and call a technical foul on Cousins if he becomes too vocal.

因為Elie認為表弟這樣抱怨下去很快就會領個T下場休息了。

"It'll be interesting how he responds if he gets a 'T'," Elie said.

Elie:「人家真的很想看看表弟領T的樣子嘛!」

Rotation – Elie said he hadn't decided on a starting lineup for today's game.

Elie說他還沒有決定今晚的輪替順序。

He did say he would probably rotate, giving Donté Greene and Omri Casspi
starts.

他說他可能會給小綠跟小卡一起先發。

Greene will probably play a lot today with Casspi playing about 15 minutes,
Elie said, with Casspi playing more minutes Tuesday.

今天小綠可能會比Casspi多打一點，Casspi今天大概只上15分鐘


但是小卡在星期二會有多點時間。

"It's not a big thing," Elie said. "Our main guys will get most of the time –
 Cousins, Whiteside, Donté and Omri. That's our real focus – developing our
guys while watching other players."


Elie說「這不重要啦，我們主要會讓表弟，白邊，小綠跟小卡這四隻多打一些

這四隻我們的主力培養目標，然後順便看看其他球員。」
