Ny Times:

It appears that the 15 players who came to training camp with guaranteed
contracts this week will be the 15 players who will make the opening-night
roster. At least, that was the impression Isiah Thomas gave yesterday in
Charleston, S.C. Thomas praised the veteran Fred Jones, who was acquired in
the Zach Randolph trade. Thomas said there had been no discussion of waiving
or buying out Jerome James, the perpetually injured center. That means the
Knicks will probably have to trade or waive the rookie Demetris Nichols.

也就是James staying, Nichols likely out.  暈倒..

With Nets Unlikely, Knicks Become Best Option For Houston

Star-Ledger -
Allan Houston's chances of joining the Nets diminished considerably as soon
as New Jersey signed Darrell Armstrong to be part of their backcourt
rotation, and now there's no way around it: Houston can't fit on the roster.

The team has informed Houston's agent that it would be prudent for him to
take any camp invitations offered by the Knicks or others, according to a
Nets official who required anonymity because he doesn't speak for the team.

Jeffries Would Give Houston No. 20

New York Post -

Jared Jeffries, who wears No. 20 for the Knicks, said he'll give his jersey
number up to Allan Houston when he joins the team this week. Jeffries will go
back to wearing No. 1, his number in Washington.

Jeffries didn't wear No. 1 when he joined the Knicks because it was taken by
Steve Francis, now in Houston
