Eddy Curry has made the slow walk back to the bench several times over the
last three games.
It's an exercise that does not sit well with the Knicks' center.

The numbers reflect the frustration Curry is feeling. He's totaled just 19
points and 10 rebounds against Utah, Boston and Milwaukee. And none of those
teams has an equal and opposite force.

"I get touches, but it seems like there's already somebody around me when I
get the ball," Curry said. "I'm the kind of player who relies on teammates to

smart and not force anything."

Even Eddy Curry could not resist poking fun at himself during the last three
games.
“I’ve been on vacation,” Curry told reporters after practice Saturday.

Curry, the Knicks’ starting center, was not on a remote beach Thursday, but
it seemed that way. He scored 4 points in the Knicks’ 45-point loss to the
Boston Celtics, missing 9 of 11 shots. On Friday, Curry was a spectator late
in the fourth quarter as the Knicks came back to beat the Milwaukee Bucks.

Curry’s recent decline is the latest pothole in what has been a difficult
season for the team. But Coach Isiah Thomas said he saw no reason to change
Curry’s role in the rotation, perhaps because the Knicks have won three of

Last season, Curry averaged 19.5 points and 7 rebounds a game.

time has been limited this season. Unlike Curry and Zach Randolph, Lee does
not need to take a lot of shots to be effective.

said Saturday that he felt fine and had been cleared by the Knicks’ medical
staff to play against the Suns. He missed the Knicks’ first game against
Phoenix, nearly three weeks ago, when he briefly left the team.

Curry said the Knicks never imagined that November would present so many
obstacles. But brighter days — in theory, at least — appear to be on the
horizon.

14 games on the road in December. They played five of the league’s top six
