The Knicks, in filling out their training-camp roster, have invited former
Pacers first-round pick Shawne Williams.

Williams, yet another swingman, was with Dallas and the Nets last season but
did not play in a game. Williams, a mid first-round pick in 2006 out of
Memphis, became one of Donnie Walsh's larger busts. Williams' invite gives
the Knicks 16 players.

With Patrick Ewing Jr. getting a partial guarantee, Williams does not seem to
have much of a chance to make the squad, unless the Knicks give up a bunch of
swingmen in a Carmelo Anthony trade.

Eddy Curry has arrived. Finally.

Curry became the last Knicks player to report to their Westchester compound
Thursday. Official reporting date is Friday, but all 14 Knicks came earlier
for voluntary pre-camp scrimmages and workouts.

Center Timofey Mozgov even beat Curry to camp, arriving Monday despite having
played in the World Championships in Turkey.

Walsh said he was not going to "get mad'' as long as Curry reported in shape.
Walsh was told by a third party Curry was working out in Chicago. Curry has
played 10 games in two seasons.

Walsh, asked if Curry could still be a productive player, said, "Yeah. We
could've used him the last two years. For a guy that big and athletic, he
could be a force.''

Walsh said he took a different approach to Curry this summer, laying off him.

"I told him I'm not going to bug you all summer like I did the year before,''
Walsh said. "There is no magic formula.''
