Knicks, Raptors meet with Steve Nash

Steve Nash spent Sunday in Manhattan, meeting with teams that have made
signing him their top priority, and the Knicks were one of them.


飄髮哥禮拜天早上會面了幾隻球隊 尼克就是其中之一


But Knicks general manager Glen Grunwald likely will need a major assist from
Nash and maybe the Phoenix Suns to work out a deal for the perennial All-Star
point guard.


不過GG可能需要太陽的幫忙


The Raptors were the first team to meet with Nash, and according to multiple
reports, they offered him a three-year, $36-million deal.

For the Knicks to approach Toronto's numbers, they would need to make a major
deal to shed salary or execute a sign-and-trade with the Suns.
The Knicks could give Nash the taxpayer midlevel exception of about $9.5
million for three years.

Yahoo! Sports reported that the Suns would have interest in restricted free
agent Landry Fields .
But the most he could make is about $5.3 million, and that's on the high side
for Fields.
The Knicks could include other players such as Dan Gadzuric , who has one
non-guaranteed season left on his contract and would come off the books if
he's waived.
But the Suns likely would want more in a sign-and-trade for Nash if they
can't re-sign him.

Besides meeting with Nash, the Knicks put their contingency plans in place,
reaching out to the representatives of other free agents, including Jason
Kidd and former Knick Raymond Felton .


不過除了跟飄髮哥面談以外 尼克也開啟備案了 就是跟接生小孩還有肥頓會談


The Knicks also expressed interest in small forward Rashard Lewis (waived by
New Orleans on Saturday), Celtics power forward Brandon Bass and onetime
Knick Marcus Camby .


同時也對兩千萬先生跟BASS還有CAMBY表達興趣

The Knicks feel good about their chances of re-signing Steve Novak despite
nearly a dozen teams contacting his agent yesterday on the first day of free
agency.


尼克覺得簽回NOVAK是很有機會的 儘管有一打的隊伍都有跟NOVAK的經紀人有聯繫


But as a back-up plan, the Knicks have targeted free-agent forward, Anthony
Tolliver as a possible replacement, according to sources.


尼克現在對於簽不回NOVAK也有了備案 就是Anthony Tolliver


Tolliver was an excellent 3-point shooter two seasons ago with the
Timberwolves before being hampered by a wrist injury last season.


AT是個不錯的3分射手 不過他上季在灰狼時受傷了


A good rebounder and defender, Tolliver's adjusted plus-minus ratings have
pro scouts impressed.

The Knicks are afraid of the new luxury-tax penalty and prefer not to have to
compete with a club offering Novak the full $5 million mid-level exception.
