GREENBURGH, N.Y. — The timetable for Amar’e Stoudemire’s return to the
Knicks remained unclear Saturday. But Dr. Thomas Carter, whom Stoudemire
consulted for a second opinion on the ruptured cyst in his left knee, mainly
agreed with the Knicks’ medical staff: Stoudemire should be healthy by
roughly the end of November.


阿罵回歸尼克的時程還不確定，而太陽神醫也支持尼克隊醫的論調，不過他說阿罵最好

Carter’s assessment of Stoudemire’s knee matched most of what the Knicks
thought in terms of the severity of the injury and how long it would take to
heal, said Happy Walters, Stoudemire’s agent. But Walters used the phrase “
several more weeks” in describing what Carter felt should be the appropriate
length of Stoudemire’s rehabilitation. The Knicks initially said Stoudemire
would return to the team within two to three weeks.

In the past, the Knicks have recommended that players seek second opinions
from personal doctors when they have been injured. A team spokesman said
Stoudemire chose to have Carter look at his knee on his own.

“He is going to continue rehab and hope to come back sooner than later,”
 Walters said of Stoudemire in an e-mail.

Walters also attempted to calm worried Knicks fans through his Twitter
account.

“To all of the Knicks fans sending me messages ... Stoudemire will be fine,”
 Walter wrote. “He’s working with team trainers. No one wants to be out
there after working all summer on his game more than Stoudemire.”

Stoudemire, who is entering his 11th season, has had knee problems throughout
his career, and he missed action during the preseason with a bruise on his
left knee.

said. “He brings offense, he brings rebounding, he brings a number of things
to our ballclub. We’re going to miss him. But until he gets back, it gives
other guys an opportunity to step up and play. That’s what I’m going to be
pushing guys to do.”

Rasheed Wallace participated with the Knicks in three sessions of full-court
scrimmages. “I thought in the scrimmage he looked pretty good,” Coach Mike
Woodson said. “His conditioning was in better shape than I thought. He went
up and down the floor and made some shots.” ...The Knicks released Oscar
Bellfield, Mychel Thompson, Henry Sims and John Shurna to get their opening
day roster down to the mandatory 15 players. ... Chris Copeland, who
impressed Woodson throughout the preseason, was the lone training camp
invitee to make the roster.

靠譜蘭篇


Copeland was the only training camp invitee to make the regular-season
roster. (Rasheed Wallace is the other non-guaranteed contract player on the
team.) At age 28, Copeland, who describes himself as an underdog, will be a
rookie this season after spending most of the last five years playing in
Europe.


“If I make it, I’ll be speechless,” Copeland said after practice. “I know
I will still have to come back to work, but it would be a huge honor for me. I
’ve been praying for it for most of my life.”


靠譜蘭是尼克訓練營約中唯一一個留下的，而西蛙則是非保證約，靠譜蘭描述他自己就

Copeland said he has learned from many teammates during training camp, but he
has spent a lot of his time on the court with Pablo Prigioni, a 35-year-old

making assists to him on pick-and-roll and pick-and-pop plays. The two
players could be a part of Woodson’s rotation.

“Pablo is an amazing passer,” Copeland said of Prigioni. “This is Pablo’s
first year in the league, but I’m still learning a lot from him. I would
love to play next to him more.”

Copeland realizes he still needs to improve as a defender and focus more on

Saturday. And with it, he expects to only become a better player.

“I honestly think the best is yet to come,” he said. “I have a lot of
confidence in my ability. I still think I have a lot of growing to do, but I’
m confident that I can play with anybody.”
