The deficit was large and time was running out. The AT&T Center was rocking.
In those few moments during a timeout, Coach Mike Woodson had to regroup his
team.
落後分差頗大，比賽即將終了，馬刺主場觀眾們喧囂不止，尼克武僧喊了暫停重整陣勢

The Knicks’ unbeaten record and their pursuit of gaining respect against one
of the best teams in the N.B.A. was in the balance.

“It will be a great test for our ball club,” Woodson said before the game.
“I’m kind of anxious to see where we are in playing one of the top teams in

In the final seven minutes the Knicks proved they are legitimate, erasing a
12-point deficit with a 27-11 run and handing the Spurs their first home loss
of the season, 104-100, Thursday night.

The Knicks (6-0), who won here for the first time since 2003, will try to

Carmelo Anthony had an off shooting night (3 of 12) and did not attempt a
shot in the pivotal fourth quarter. Instead, he passed the ball to teammates
like Raymond Felton (25 points), J.R. Smith (17) and Jason Kidd (14).

The Knicks’ improbable comeback began when Kidd hit two 3-pointers to cut

movement around the perimeter. Kidd secured the win with another 3-pointer,
with 1:01 left.

In the first half, with the game at a furious pace, the Knicks were able to
stay with Spurs without much scoring from Anthony, who scored 4 points, 9
over all. Rasheed Wallace was the biggest surprise of the half. He scored 10
points and made two 3-pointers.

This game was Knicks’ toughest challenge of the season. Although they were
unbeaten, most of their opponents so far have not had their best players on
the court. The Philadelphia 76ers were without Andrew Bynum (bruised right
knee). The Dallas Mavericks didn’t have Dirk Nowitzki (right knee surgery)
or Shawn Marion (sprained left medial collateral ligament). Even the Orlando
Magic, a team that has lost five straight, are missing Jameer Nelson (groin),
Al Harrington (knee surgery) and Hedo Turkoglu (left hand).

“They are playing solid defense and they are aggressive with it,” Popovich
said. “On offense, they are playing together and guys are accepting roles
around their strengths. Those are always good signs if you can get a team to
understand how they can best help the group.”

Coach Mike Woodson started Carmelo Anthony again at the power forward
position against a Spurs’ DeJuan Blair. Woodson also said that Anthony would
matchup against Zach Randolph, who weighs 30 pounds more Anthony, when the
Knicks play the Grizzlies. “Carmelo is big enough to guard Zach,” Woodson
said. “He’s done it before in the past so that won’t make any difference
for us. We can protect Carmelo in certain situations by doubling. For right
now, there’s on since in making any changes.” ... Ronnie Brewer, who sat
out of Wednesday’s practice because of swelling in his left knee, stayed in
the starting lineup against the Spurs. “I think the day off helped him,”
 Woodson said. Brewer felt pain in his knee in the victory over the Orlando
Magic on Tuesday, and had his left leg in a compression device to reduce the
swelling. He finished with 9 points.
