MILWAUKEE — NBA fans probably know what their team's record is, but not
necessarily when its last full practice was.
In the case of the Knicks, even the players are probably not sure when it
was, only that it has been a while. Coach Mike Woodson knows it has been far
too long since his team was in a gymnasium learning new information and how
to execute it.

Woodson has had to wrestle with a choice: whether to hold full practices on
days off or to give the players, many of whom are in their 30s, time to rest
before the next game.

“I've always felt that practice keeps you sharp in terms of rotations from a
defensive standpoint and on offense from an execution standpoint,” Woodson

“We just haven’t had a chance to practice. It’s been a tough schedule so
far.”

Even Hurricane Sandy interfered with practice time. It postponed the Knicks’
 scheduled season opener, at Brooklyn, to Monday, a day the Knicks had
scheduled for a full practice.

“Sometimes when you don’t play well, and you have losses, you like to go
back and make adjustments and improvements,” forward Ronnie Brewer said. “
Since we’ve had so many games and so many back-to-backs, we haven’t had
that opportunity.”

During their last practice, in San Antonio, the Knicks trained and prepared
for the Spurs for almost three hours. Tyson Chandler enjoys those kinds of
days. He knows that half of the current roster did not play for the Knicks
last season. And so, in his mind, the Knicks are still a young team, not yet
used to one another’s habits, and definitely in need of as much practice
time as possible.

Since he was a no-show in Brooklyn on Monday, the Knicks have called his
status day to day.

"It’s for the long haul," Tyson Chandler said after speaking to Kidd on the
day off Tuesday. "Even if he has to be out for a while we’ll win our games
and we’ll lose some like that, but it’ll be learning experiences.

"It’s more important that we have him healthy for the long haul. ... I’m
looking for this year to be a long one and I’m looking for him to be with us
down the stretch. It’s more important that he’s healthy then, rather than
November and December."

老錢說:"老基是未來的依靠，即使他暫時不能上場，只依靠我們也能贏得比賽，就算輸

"We’re always worried about guys when they go down," Woodson said. "We just
don’t know. I mean, I just think he’s got the back spasms and it’s going
to be a day-to-day thing. Hopefully, he’ll be back soon."

Woodson said Wednesday that, even without Kidd to put beside Felton, he would
have to work another playmaker into the lineup, thus reducing Felton's
minutes and increasing the workload for Pablo Prigioni.
"This being new to Pablo, the next go-around he’ll probably be out there a
little bit more, at least until we get Jason back," Woodson said. "But I
thought I extended Raymond’s minutes a bit much. When you’ve got to chase
Deron [Williams] and still run your team, [and] do all the things we ask of a
point guard, it’s a lot of work."

Woodson added. "You miss him, but again, we can’t sit here and complain. We’
ve got to go with guys that are in uniform and trust that they can get the
job done. I feel good about the guys that we have in uniform here ready to
play."

Amar’e Stoudemire’s goal is to return around Christmas, with mid-December
no longer a legitimate possibility, according to person familiar with the
Knicks power forward’s thinking. The person said Stoudemire hasn’t begun
running on the court following his surgery on Nov. 1.

阿罵目標訂在聖誕節左右歸隊，而不是之前所說的12月中旬，消息表示阿罵目前還不能奔跑


A source told The Post recently Stoudemire realizes if the Knicks are winning
at a solid clip, he expects to come off the bench at the outset.

"All he cares about right now is helping the team and winning," said one
source, who has been around Stoudemire regularly in recent weeks.
"He'd be fine with coming off the bench if that's what they want."
"He just wants to win," the source says.
"He sees how well they're playing and just wants to help. He'll be fine with
whatever they want to do."
