The New York Knicks were busy this offseason, completely transforming their
roster from the one we saw a season ago.

紐約尼克在這次的休賽季非常的忙碌,把上個球季的隊伍重新打造.

However while there were decisions to bring in the likes of: Raymond Felton,
Ronnie Brewer, Jason Kidd, Marcus Camby, Kurt Thomas, Pablo Prigioni and
Rasheed Wallace, the biggest offseason move could have been one that received
very little publicity.

在做出帶進肥頓,小酒,老基,坎比,KT,老PP跟阿北的決定外,這個休賽季最大的招兵動作
卻顯為人知.

That would be shooting coach Dave Hopla, who the Knicks lured away from
Toronto.

這個兵就是尼克從多倫多誘惑過來的投籃教練Dave Hopla.

Hopla had a reputation as a shooting guru coming into New York, but what he’
s done with this team has been outstanding.

Hopla自被聘請來紐約前就有投籃大師這個稱號,但他對尼克所做的可是額外地出眾.

Here are the current Knicks’ players shooting percentages last season and
what they are shooting now.

以下為現有尼克球員投進率上季跟本季的比較:

J.R. Smith- .407, .347 three-point in 2011-12; .397, .380 in 2012-13

Carmelo Anthony- .430 and .335; .457 and .435

Ronnie Brewer- .427 and .275; .416 and .395

Jason Kidd- .363 and .354; .468 and .483

Raymond Felton- .407 and .305; .418 and .416

(OS:可以看得出來兩個投進率除了增加外,彼此的差異也小很多,表示球員們的投球穩定
    率也有增加)

That’s just a few examples of the impact Hopla has made in a short time. As
a team last year, the Knicks shot 44.3 percent from the floor and that number
is slightly up this season to 44.8. But the biggest difference has been in
the perimeter shooting. Last year the Knicks shot only 33.6 percent from
behind the arc and this year they are knocking them down at a 40.5 percent
clip.

這些只是少數幾個Hopla在短期內所造成影響的例子.去年尼克投進率大概是44.3%
相較於今年少許增加到44.8%.但是最大的差別在於遠程射球.去年的尼克的三分線投進
率只有33.6%而這季的尼克爆增到40.5%.

These typically aren’t great shooters we are talking about, other than Steve
Novak, so a little bit of the credit has to be thrown Hopla’s way.

除了腰帶之外,其他的球員並不是我們所知的三分好手,所以我們一定要給Hopla些小小
的掌聲.

Certainly it is the players that are getting the job done, but sometimes a
little known addition like a quality shooting coach can make all the
difference in the world.

當然的,把球投進去的是那些選手們,但是有時候小小不為人所知的招兵譬如一位好品質
的投籃教練可以給世界帶來大大的影響.
