NEW YORK — Amar’e Stoudemire was on the floor at the morning shootaround
for the Knicks on Wednesday, but was an observer, getting a day of rest after
his first day of scrimmaging . He is scheduled back on the floor with the
Erie BayHawks today in what could be a crucial test for his comeback.

Stoudemire scrimmaged with the NBA Development League team Tuesday, his first
contact work since undergoing left knee surgery in the preseason.

"[Today] will be another heavy day for him and that was the plan," Knicks
coach Mike Woodson said. "To go hard [Tuesday] and take it easy [Wednesday
and today] get back at it again and see how he feels after that."

阿罵禮拜二跟發展聯盟的人努力訓練，禮拜三做了些投籃練習後開始養生，而禮拜四預計

他會回來練習。

阿罵禮拜二的練習是他從季前賽後的第一次正式練習。

武僧說:"阿罵今天可是會很忙的，禮拜二讓他練，禮拜三讓他放鬆一下，今天要在練一次

就讓我們看看他感覺如何吧。"


Stoudemire said he felt soreness after that first scrimmage and while he wasn
’t willing to put a date on a return, Woodson said that if all goes well,
Stoudemire will shift from working with the BayHawks to the Knicks. Woodson
would not rule out that Stoudemire could play this weekend.

"I can’t make that decision right now," Woodson said. "I can’t answer that.
It’s going to be entirely up to him and the doctors in terms of how he’s
feeling. I don’t want to put him in a position to fail. And I truly mean
that as a coach. When he tells me he’s ready, if he says he’s ready, then I
trust that and I’ll play him."

“It’s always a concern,’’ coach Mike Woodson said of the soreness before
the Knicks’ 100-86 victory over the Nets at the Garden. “It could be
because he hasn’t been on the floor — the first day of cutting and banging
and moving around. That’s probably expected. We’ll see how he feels [today].

關於阿罵膝蓋痛痛問題，武僧說:"這的確是我們要擔心的，不過這可能是因為他很久沒上場

Woodson said he still liked what he saw from Stoudemire on Tuesday from a
defensive standpoint.

“I thought he looked pretty good in terms of withstanding some of the
banging and being able to get up and down,’’ Woodson said. “That’s going
to be the major test — being able to cut and move laterally and trying to
play defense. I’m not too concerned about offense. He’s got to be able to
withstand trying to defend low-post players and guys coming at him off the
dribble. That’s going to be the true test.’’

Meanwhile, Wallace, the Knicks’ best defensive big man off the bench, is
wearing a boot on his left foot and missed his third straight game last night
against the Nets with a sore foot. Woodson isn’t sure when he’ll be back.
Wallace has said he reaggravated an old injury.

Marcus Camby also was out, last appearing in a game Nov. 26. But at least
Camby has begun running with the team in workouts. "Marcus is on the floor
running a little bit," Woodson said. "So all I can do is wait patiently for
him." … Steve Novak sat out with flu-like symptoms.

"I'm on pace to return back to dominance," Stoudemire said Thursday. "It's a
matter of becoming 100 percent. When I'm healthy, I feel like I'm back to my
dominant self."

阿罵經過第二次練習後說:"我感覺我就快回到以前的我了，我正在逐漸回到100%的狀態，

當我健康時，我就會變回之前的自己了。"


Stoudemire looked good and showed some of his trademark explosiveness in his
second scrimmage with the Erie BayHawks of the D-League. Toward the end of
it, coach Mike Woodson called Stoudemire over and told him it was enough.

he Knicks own the East's top mark at 19-6 so there's no need to rush him
back. He won't play in the next two games at least as the Knicks conclude a
six-game homestand against Chicago and Minnesota. It's possible he can return
on next week's West Coast trip.

正式確定阿罵不會在主場復出，可能要看看下禮拜的客場之旅了。


"I'm not quite ready yet," he said. "Takes a little more time to get 100
percent. Hopefully I'll be back soon enough. But there is no target date yet."

He said he still felt some soreness in his knee but said he felt better than
after Tuesday's first practice with Erie.
