Rasheed Wallace’s mysterious “sore foot” injury is really a stress
fracture, according to a Knicks source.
Officially, the team is listing Wallace’s status as day-to-day, but
privately it is optimistic that the injury won’t sideline the veteran
forward for an extended period of time. Wallace missed his fourth straight
game on Friday and hasn’t practiced or played in 10 days.

The hope is that he’ll be back at some point after the Knicks’ three-game
West Coast trip that begins on Christmas Day against the Lakers in Los
Angeles. Wallace, who has missed six games overall because of his foot
injury, is using a walking boot on his left foot.

Wallace, 38, returned to the NBA after sitting out the past two seasons for
unspecified reasons. He insists that he was never retired and has made an
important contribution to the team. Wallace is averaging 7.2 points, 4.2
rebounds and 14.6 minutes per game while serving as a de-facto defensive
coach.
Several players have commented on how Wallace’s communication, whether he’s
on the bench or on the court, has been essential to the Knicks’ defensive
success. That is the type of leadership Mike Woodson anticipated when he
reached out to Wallace to gauge his interest in resuming his career.

Currently sidelined with plantar fasciitis, Camby has appeared in just six
games. The Knicks, however, are listing Camby as having a sore left foot.
Camby, 38, has begun shooting again, and his return appears to be imminent.
Earlier this season, Kidd missed four games with back spasms. The Knicks
never believed the injury was serious but purposely held him out a few extra
days to make sure that the 39-year-old guard was fit.

"I'll probably have a long talk with him, just to map out and see where he
is," Woodson said before Friday night's game. "Tomorrow, we won't be able to
do much [in practice] with the early [5 p.m.] game on Sunday and then the
trip out west."

Woodson said he'd like to see Stoudemire, who scrimmaged with the Knicks'
D-League crew twice this week, go through a full practice before returning to
a game.

Woodson also briefly addressed a report that the Knicks were looking to dump
Stoudemire last season and into the summer.
"Amar'e is a big piece of the New York Knicks. That's why he's still here,
and we're just trying to figure out after he's healthy, get him back into the
swing and flow of things," Woodson said. "That's all I'm concerned about. All
that other chatter outside the game, I don't buy into that."

Stoudemire returned to practice on Tuesday, and there is a small possibility
that he will make his season debut on Sunday. A more plausible scenario would
be for Stoudemire to return at some point during the trip, which includes a
Dec. 26 game in Phoenix and a Dec. 28 game in Sacramento.

阿罵周日可能上場，但是更好的時機點是在之後的客場之旅。
