With Rasheed Wallace’s and Marcus Camby’s health a nagging concern despite
their returns to practice yesterday, the Knicks are one of a handful of teams
to inquire about Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov this month, according to a
league source. The trading deadline is tomorrow.

Mozgov, the former Knick, has been reduced to third-string by the Nuggets and
is in the final year of his 3-year contract that he originally signed with
the Knicks.

With his expiring contract, Mozgov likely would be keen on re-signing here
after his positive experience in New York.

then, too, with Wallace expected to retire again after the season.

Shumpert package, according to sources. The Knicks are shopping this package
in an attempt to land a significant player. One player that they’d like to
pry loose is Josh Smith of the Atlanta Hawks, according to a league source.
While it’s admittedly unlikely, it’s a rumor that has floated around in
recent days.

It’s a deal that makes sense for New York. A trade of Stoudemire and
Shumpert for Smith and a filler such as Zaza Pachulia, for example, would
work under the cap.

UPDATE:According to Ken Berger, Atlanta Hawks General Manager, Danny Ferry, “
has told prospective trade partners that he is not interested in taking back
future salary.” With that said, a Stoudemire/Shumpert – Smith swap is
basically impossible.

不過老鷹的GM那邊是說這則交易是不太可能的
