Report: Knicks Sign Forward James Singleton, Release Kurt Thomas

According to ESPN New York’s Ian Begley, the Knicks have signed free agent
forward, James Singleton. The 6-foot-8 big man has played a total of six
seasons in the NBA on three teams (Clippers, Mavericks, Wizards) with career
averages of 3.9 points and 3.7 rebounds in 13.4 minutes per game. The
31-year-old most recently played for the Xinjiang Flying Tigers of the
Chinese Basketball Association where he averaged 15.2 points and 11 rebounds
(30 minutes) in 21 games this past season.

According to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News, the Knicks released Kurt
Thomas to make room for Singleton. The 40-year-old will have surgery on his
right foot next week.
