Phil Jackson is well aware of Carmelo Anthony's on-court value to the Knicks.

"We recognize his talent and his skill is the kind of skill and talent that
gets you through playoff games,” Jackson said last week.
“Things get sticky, grind out and basketball becomes a force game, and
suddenly you need to have a player who has the capabilities of scoring with
someone hanging on them in a situation that’s critical. He’s one of those
players, one of the few players who can do that."

杜蘭表示禪師全權掌控尼克斯的動態

Madison Square Garden executive chairman James Dolan said that Phil Jackson has
 the final say on whom the Knicks hire as their next coach and on how to
handle Carmelo Anthony's impending free agency.

杜蘭表示教練人選跟瓜的去留都由禪師來做決定


杜蘭:除非他需要我幫忙，不然我不插手


“I have no idea who he (Phil Jackson) is talking to,” Dolan said.

談到教練人選，杜蘭:"我不知道禪師想選誰"


He laughed before saying how Jackson “asked me not to tell anybody”
but he couldn’t resist. Dolan said in May his family gave him a birthday
gift — a T-shirt with two words on it: “Ask Phil.”

“I actually have not asked him about the coaching search, on purpose,”
Dolan said. “I have not asked him about it. I just told him I am here if you
need me. If you don’t need me, that’s fine, too.”

“I made a commitment to Phil that he’s going to run it,” Dolan said.
“Unless he asks me to help, it’s his to run.”

Dolan said he would be flying to Los Angeles for Wednesday night’s
Rangers-Kings Stanley Cup Final opener.
“I’m really excited and hopeful,” Dolan said.
“I’m also scared to death.”
