A source confirmed an ESPN report that Anthony, along with several other
Knicks, is frustrated in the triangle offense, which is the preferred system
of rookie coach Derek Fisher. Coincidentally, Phil Jackson’s first choice to
coach the Knicks, Steve Kerr, is not running the triangle with the Golden
State Warriors, who own the best record in the NBA and had won 13 straight
games entering Wednesday.

Anthony’s best season was two years ago, when he finished third in the MVP
voting while playing power forward almost exclusively in an isolation-heavy
offense. It’s also been proven that Anthony excels when playing with an
accomplished veteran point guard running the offense, whether it was Chauncey
Billups in Denver or Jason Kidd with the Knicks. Billups and Kidd both won
NBA titles before playing alongside Anthony.

behest of team president Phil Jackson. When Jackson coached the Bulls, he won
six titles in an offense featuring Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. With
the Lakers, Jackson won another five rings with either the combination of
Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant, or Bryant and Pau Gasol. The Knicks lack
that type of talent.

Several former NBA coaches, including Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson, have
said that great players, and not systems, win championships. Both received
backlash for those comments from Jackson and his associates.

On Wednesday, a current NBA coach put it bluntly: "The triangle did not win
titles in Chicago. It was the players running the triangle. Just like it’s
not Gregg Popovich’s passing offense in San Antonio that won last year. It
was the great players in that offense that won."
本週三的時候，幾位現任的 NBA 教練也跳出來聲明，
"三角戰術並不是讓公牛贏得冠軍的主因，也不是波波的進攻戰術，
讓馬刺於去年打敗熱火拿下冠軍，是那些優秀的球員的技術，
善用了那些戰術，並完美貫徹執行了策略，才能夠拿下冠軍。"
