Return of Vlade?

The Lakers are interested in bringing back Vlade Divac to play center, team
sources said Sunday.

Sources said they may have to give Divac, an unrestricted free agent,
perhaps all or most of the $5 million mid-level exception.

Divac, 36, was traded to the Hornets in 1996, which gave the Lakers the rights
to Bryant.

Divac has spent the past six seasons in Sacramento.

The Lakers have made an offer to Slava Medvedenko.

With Rick Fox and Devean George also small forwards, the Lakers have an
abundance of them now that Butler and Odom appear headed to LA. Don't be
surprised to see the Lakers trade at least one of them, and perhaps two.

The Lakers still want Derek Fisher and Karl Malone to return but will let
Malone, who had surgery on his right knee, take all summer to make his
decision.
