What You Already Know:
To say the Jazz have struggled after a strong start is an understatement as
Jerry Sloan’s squad is in the midst of a downward spiral that has them on
the outside looking in on Western Conference’s top eight. Since beginning
the season at an impressive 12-5, the Western Conference runner-up has lost
nine of 12 games to bump its overall record down to a mediocre 16-14.
先講一些你已經知道的。
要說爵士今年在有了開季強勢表現後，這支史龍軍隊會在西區被困住，而且掉在
西區八強之外，我想一定會有說人你騙笑耶，但事實如此。
在開季令人印象深刻的12W5L的爵士，卻在往後的12場比賽輸掉了9場，戰績現在只有
16W14L。

Led by long-time Coach Jerry Sloan, the Jazz are usually unfazed by one or
two losses, drawing on Sloan’s stern disposition to shake off defeat and
focus only on one game at a time. However, for whatever reason, this season,
the Jazz have been unable to fight through adversity, already the owners of a
six game losing streak.
長年由史龍帶領的強爵，在史龍嚴苛的調教，強爵常能擊敗強敵，並且專注於每場比賽，

The Lakers and Jazz have split their two games this year with each team
exchanging wins on their respective home courts. The Lakers were first at it
in November, beating the Jazz 119-109 behind Kobe’s 33 points and Derek
Fisher’s 19 against his former teammates. The Jazz got quick revenge three
weeks later, trampling L.A. 120-96 despite the absence of Mehmet Okur and
Carlos Boozer due to injury.
湖人和爵士在前兩次的對戰中，都在自己的主場踢爆對方。第一次在湖人主場交手，
在Kobe獲得33分及好爹爹Fisher 19分的表現下，以119-109強壓了爵士。不過爵士很快的
在第二次的見面中復仇，竟然在Okur及Boozer的缺陣下以120-96大勝湖人。(中邪？)

What You Might Not Know:
Although the Jazz’ scoring is up, they have been much less productive this
season on defense, despite the return to form of Andrei Kirilenko.
Specifically, Utah has struggled inside after Mehmet Okur was rendered
inactive from injury. Okur’s ineffectiveness is one of the biggest reasons
why Utah has found hard times the past month, with his scoring average
decreasing by almost six points from last year’s 18 per game. Mehmet’s
rebounding numbers are also down, to only five a night for the 6’11”
 starting center.

Even when the Jazz were playing well to open up the season, their record was
buoyed by an easy first month schedule. In fact, of the Jazz’ 16 wins, only
seven have come against teams currently sporting a record over .500.
說到爵士本季開季的好成績，其實也可以相當歸因於開季賽程的爽度。
談到爵士的16W中，只有七支對手是勝率破5成。

Stockton-Malone has essentially been reincarnated in Salt Lake; Carlos Boozer
is quietly having a career year for the Jazz, with increases in almost every
major statistical department. Boozer is putting up almost 25 points a night
to go along with 12 rebounds and three assists. The same can be said for
up-and-coming point guard Deron Williams who followed up his successful
sophomore campaign to post averages of 20 points and nine assists a night.

What You Need To Know:
Lakers point guard Derek Fisher left the Jazz this past summer to find
superior medical treatment for his cancer-stricken daughter. However, his
decision to leave Salt Lake City for Los Angeles left a sizeable gap in
veteran savvy and at shooting guard for the Jazz. Fisher has enjoyed one of
his best statistical years to date so far this season, making the loss even
harder to swallow for Utah. This is complicated by the fact that the Jazz
already have no one to match up against Kobe at shooting guard as Bryant has
gone off on the in each of their two meetings this year, averaging over 30
points.

湖人控衛好爹費雪今年夏天離開爵士來到洛杉磯為他女兒尋求更充裕的醫療環境。
然而這樣的決定卻對兩支球隊產生了這樣的影響：爵士方面，他們少了一位優秀的得分
後衛；湖人方面卻適時的填補了一位老兵並帶來了經驗(重點是走了一位.....吧)。對
Fisher來說，本季他卻相當的享受比賽，多項統計數據都來到了生涯新高，但對爵士來說
，Fisher的離去另他們吞下了更多的敗仗。另外以爵士的角度來看，沒有人可以在得分
後衛位置上去阻止Kobe，Kobe更在前兩次的兩隊互幹中攻下了每場平均30分的分數。

Deron Williams has shredded the Lakers defense in each of the teams’ first
two games against each other, easily piling up 28 points and 35 points. L.A.’
s point guard duo of Fisher and Farmar has responded well with Farmar scoring
12 points in the first matchup and another 21 in the Lakers defeat in Utah.
However, the Lakers need lockdown defense out of the point guard spot in
Friday’s game, not necessarily scoring.
蝶龍威廉斯在本季兩隊的交手中，也適時蹂躪了湖人的防線，輕鬆的攻下28與35分。
湖人的兩隻控衛Fisher與Farmar其實也表現得突出，第一場比賽中Farmar攻下12分、
Fisher則是21分。但湖人真正需要的不是得分，而是阻止這隻很囂張的龍。

Lamar Odom was virtually nonexistent in the L.A.’s last game against the
Jazz, only throwing up five field goal attempts en route to seven points and
four rebounds. The Lakers need Lamar’s lanky frame to contribute much more
against Jazz defenders with a more pronounced inside-outside game (courtesy
of Bynum) that should create mismatches on offense for Odom.
Lamar Odom在上一場比賽則向是消失了一樣(對不起Orz)，僅僅出手五次，得7分，只有
4個籃板(對不起x2...哭哭)。湖人需要Odom那個瘦長的身軀去侵略爵士的防守，在霸男在
內線的幫忙下，應該可以為Odom的進攻創造更多的mismatch。(我會好好努力低！)

Like the Lakers, Utah turns the ball over at an unusually high rate with both
teams throwing it away 16 times per contest. In other words, Friday’s winner
may very well be determined by the team that is able to take care of the ball
more effectively.
與湖人一樣，爵士也是需要高度的傳導的球隊，所以兩隊的失誤大約都在16次左右。
不過換句話說，週五獲勝的球隊，則能相當程度的代表，這支球隊可以在更小心更有效率
的處理球的流動。



結論：
