MEMPHIS, TENN. -- Derek Fisher lugged the metal folding chair from in

front of his locker, halfway across the room. He wanted to sit down —

even though it was for just a minute — in order to concentrate

properly. If he was going to study, he was really going to digest the

information, which was a wall full of diagrams of the Memphis

Grizzlies' favorite plays.

神奇小魚拉著他的好折凳來到了置物櫃前面，他想坐著好好專心一下，即使只有一分

NBA players don't give it even a first look. But meticulous to the

point he tucks his undershirt into his underpants so there are no

loose ends anywhere, Fisher sweats every detail. And the Lakers have

needed his sort of qualities more than anyone knew in what continued

Tuesday night to be a season of newfound possibilities.

Behind Fisher's torrid start and game-high 26 points, the Lakers

rolled to a 117-101 victory — their 13th in the past 16 games. It was

the Lakers' third consecutive runaway over an also-ran team, proving

something to Coach Phil Jackson, who asked for a roundhouse knockout

punch of Memphis in light of the Grizzlies' NBA-best 8-3 record

against the Lakers since Shaquille O'Neal was traded.

The Lakers never trailed after Fisher hit a pretty fast-break floater

off Kobe Bryant's game-opening steal, and Fisher went on in Shaq-style

to make 10 of 11 field-goal attempts — but only two of the baskets

came from inside. It was the second consecutive game that Fisher

scored a season high (he had 22 points Sunday night vs. Indiana), and

he was three points shy of his career high before sitting out the

fourth quarter.

Bryant said it was "ridiculous" to think that Fisher, 33, was being

signed by the Lakers as just an aging locker-room leader, not a

productive point guard.

"Now the league is so young, people think that's over the hill,"

Bryant said of being 30-something. "That didn't even cross my mind; I

knew what he could do."

Bryant (26 points, six assists, five steals) also noted how well

Fisher plays off him in the triangle offense; Bryant assisted on

team's co-captains, too.

Bryant describes this team as more united than any team in his career,

with Bryant and Fisher – the team's only two married players – acting

Lakers were engaged in a morning discussion about the depth perception

possibly be anyone but veterans Bryant and Fisher having that talk?

Fisher, an Arkansas native, went in front of a pack of friends and

family and proved quite perceptive in hitting his first six shots for

a 57-31 Lakers lead, though he said the Lakers' first-quarter defense

was the game's real key.

出生於Arkansas(美國阿肯色州)的神奇小魚，在他的朋友還家人面前展現了他的能力

Bryant argued that Fisher's only miss – a shot blocked by Darko

Milicic 3:21 before halftime — was really a lob pass for Andrew Bynum

and that Fisher really shot 10 for 10 in the game.

Fisher said he felt young with his mom there to watch and cheer him.

"That feels great," he said. "It takes you back to when friends and

family were at your high-school games or AAU games."

Bryant went down with 1:09 left in the first half and was slow to get

up, favoring the right groin muscle he strained Dec. 14, but went on

to log 40 minutes. …

Although Jackson has thought about returning Ronny Turiaf to the

starting power-forward position for more physicality, he for now likes

bumping Lamar Odom from small forward to power forward. Odom had 15

rebounds against the Grizzlies and has especially rebounded well at

power forward this season. …


雖然禪師爺想把跳跳虎丟回先發PF來增加身材優勢，但他現在又想讓辣媽回到PF的

位置上來發揮，因為他在這位置上的籃板抓的很兇，這場比賽就有15個。


In Memphis for what would've been Elvis Presley's 73rd birthday and

what the Grizzlies promoted as "Elvis Night," Jackson said his

Pentecostal minister father once wrote Presley (raised with a

Pentecostal background) a letter asking for a $10,000 donation; it

went unanswered.

"There's no better way to celebrate than with an Elvis-themed

Grizzlies game," said Paul Janikowski of Elvis Presley Enterprises.
