[外電] Road only gets rougher for Lakers

EL SEGUNDO - The Lakers have issues, and it's more than the absence of two
key players, or the need for a remedy for third-quarter swoons that resulted
in two straight losses on the road.
湖人們有一些問題，而且可能比失去兩位關鍵球員還要重要的是，湖人需要從兩場第三節
崩盤而輸掉的比賽中回復過來。

As the Lakers look to next month, they see a daunting schedule, and it'll be
sink or swim for the short-handed team.

Today's nationally televised game against Cleveland at Staples Center, hyped
as Kobe vs. LeBron Part II, should be fun compared to the grueling days
ahead.

After Tuesday's game against New York, the Lakers hit the road for nine games
in 14 days. The Lakers will play three sets of back-to-back games during this
stretch, which just adds to the difficulty and the need for players to step
up in the absence of center Andrew Bynum (knee injury) and Trevor Ariza
(fractured foot). Vladimir Radmanovic, who's missed the past 11 games with a
sprained right ankle, practiced Saturday and is a game-time decision.

schedule is "wonderful!"

"You get to see the rest of the country. We have time alone with our best
friends," Jackson said with a smile, referring to the media.
不過Phil還是對媒體笑著說，"我們起碼有機會到國家的另一邊去看看啊，我們有時間和
我們的好朋友好好相處一下。"(=_=禪師還真的是禪得幽默～)

"We have an opportunity to challenge ourselves, see if we can't erect a
better defense and better proposition than we had last year on our long road
trip."
"我們有機會挑戰我們自己，看看我們是否可以比去年客場之旅展現更強的防守還有更好
的狀況。"

They will play good teams like Detroit, Toronto and Orlando, and teams that
can be expected to challenge them, like New Jersey, Atlanta and Washington.
湖人將會面對很強的球隊如，活塞、暴龍與魔術等隊，以及一些有可能會對湖人造成極大
威脅的球隊如，籃網、老鷹及巫師隊。

"We're just real pleased to go away and do that, especially in the winter
time when it's raining in LA," Jackson said. "We get in the snow and the ice
in the East and we'll enjoy ourselves."
Phil繼續說到，"我們對於可以出去走走比賽感到很開心，特別是冬天，洛杉磯正在下雨
的時候。我們將會在東邊能看到冰雪，而且我們會玩得很開心地。"

The Lakers return home one day before the All-Star weekend festivities Feb.
15 to 17, but the rest of the month won't be much easier -- they have only
three home games out of 15 in February.
湖人將會在2/15~17的全明星賽前一天回到洛杉磯，不過明星賽後的賽程並沒有輕鬆到哪
去--因為他們在二月份15場比賽只有3場是在主場而已。(其實還有一場是對快艇，科科)

That will push the Lakers to the limit and test their mettle.
這將會把湖人推往他們的極限以及測試他們的精神力。

"It's a growth spot for our team," Jackson said. "Last year we were really
young and inexperienced ... We're a veteran team. They've been through it now
and they've got to get themselves going."
Phil說，"對我們來說這是一個成長的機會，去年我們年輕沒經驗，但現在我們是成熟球
隊了。他們必須要能從這邊順利走過，然後讓他們自己可以順利前進。"

The road swallowed the Lakers up at this time last year, when they lost 5 of
8 on their longest trip of the season.

So, Jackson was asked, does he hope his team learned from that experience?
所以Phil也被問到，他是否希望他的球隊能從那個經驗中學到些什麼？

"No, I hope they learned from this week's issues," Jackson said, referring to
losses at San Antonio and Dallas. "I hope that they know that when they go
out on the road, that when they have to face a team in the third quarter
after playing well and leading most of the (first) half, that they've got to
come out with the right energy."
Phil表示，"不會，我反倒希望他們從這週的比賽中學到東西(馬刺+小牛)。我希望他們知
道，當他們去到客場時，他們可能在上半場打得很好且保持領先，但當他們要去面對第三
節的比賽時，他們必須要帶著正確的態度回復正常的狀態才行。"

For the Lakers (27-14) to maintain their elite standing and not lose too much
ground in the Western Conference, they must get better production out of
forwards Lamar Odom and Luke Walton, who have been struggling to score
consistently and be aggressive offensively.
如果湖人(27-14)要繼續維持頂尖戰績，以及不想在西區排名下滑太多的話，那麼他們前
鋒Odom及Walton可能就要貢獻更多的能力，而這兩位最近都在得分穩定性及進攻的侵略性
上顯得有點掙扎。

With Odom averaging 10.7 points this month and Walton 6.8, the Lakers have
struggled to be a cohesive unit.

"I've got to find a way to be more aggressive and put more pressure on the
defense," said Walton, who's been bothered by a nagging ankle injury. "Being
a starter and then going 1 for 1 or 2 for 3, that's not being productive
enough."
最近受到腳踝傷勢困擾的Walton說，"我必須要找到能展現更多侵略性及對於防守上給予
更多壓力的方法。身為一個先發球員一場比賽只能1投1中或3投中2的表現顯然是非常不夠
的。 

With Bynum out, Odom is the player many expect to step up.
在Bynum缺賽的時候，Odom則是被期待可以更提升戰力的一位。

"Kobe came over to me last night and said he felt like there is more pressure
on Lamar to score now that Andrew is out," Jackson said. "He (Odom) knows he
needs to score a little bit more and he's pressing. We did a few things here
to hopefully advance some of his opportunities to score."
Phil說，"Kobe昨晚來找了我(在房間嗎？XD)，然後說他覺得在Bynum不在時，會有更多的得
分壓力落在Odom身上。而Odom也知道他必須要拿到更多的得分，而且他也正在努力逼自己去
做。我們也做了一些方法給他創造機會更容易去拿到分數。"
