ATLANTA - So, is this a case of the competition reacting to what the Lakers
do?
So, 這是一個因為湖人而做的交易嗎？XD

After all, they sent shockwaves through the NBA by acquiring Pau Gasol on
Friday. It's easy to view the Suns trading for Shaquille O'Neal on Wednesday
as a reaction to the Lakers' trade.
追根究底，湖人在Pau Gasol交易為NBA投下了一記震撼彈。這可以很容易想像太陽交易來
Shaquille O'Neal是對湖人交易的一次回應。

So, Lamar Odom, what do you think?

"Pau has got (people) scared," Odom said, smiling.

The Lakers and Suns are intense rivals in the Pacific Division, with LA
chasing Phoenix in the standings and after two straight first-round playoff
exits at the hands of the Suns.
湖人和太陽是太平洋地區的死敵，不只是湖人緊追在太陽後面，而且湖人已經連兩季第一
輪慘死在太陽手中。

The Lakers lead the season series, 2-1, with the final regular-season game
Feb. 20 in Phoenix. Andrew Bynum, who's averaging 21 points and 12.5 rebounds
against Phoenix this season, isn't expected back by then, so the Lakers will
be relying on Gasol in the middle.
湖人目前在球季隊戰的戰績以2-1領先，而且在2/20將進行本季最後一次對戰。本季對戰太
陽平均21分12.5籃板的Bynum在下一次的對戰中應該也不會上場，所以湖人可能會先用
Gasol頂上去。

"Us getting Pau, Phoenix getting Shaq, that should make things fun," Odom
said.

Coach Phil Jackson wasn't sure if the Suns made this move because the Lakers
got Gasol, in what many considered a steal -- Kwame Brown, Javaris
Crittenton, Aaron McKie and two first-round draft picks.
Phil Jackson則不確定湖人是否因為用Kwame Brown、Javaris Crittenton、Aaron McKie
及兩個第一輪選秀搶劫到Gasol，才是促使太陽做這筆交易的原因。

"That might be in some of their thinking," he said, and concluded, "The
reality is that it just changed a little bit of the complexities of our
division, and our conference, too."
他說，"這可能會稍微影響到他們的思考。不過事實上就是，這樣的交易案會讓我們這個
分區，還有整個西區的情勢變得更加複雜。"

Jackson preferred not to venture into whether or not O'Neal would become more
motivated by the trade.
Jackson則不想大膽預料O'Neal是否會因為這個交易案而被激發。

Jackson spoke about how there are "deteriorating returns" for a player such
as O'Neal, who is 36 and 300-plus pounds and has had injuries with "legs,
feet, knees, hips."
Jackson則談到對一個像O'Neal這種36歲300磅大漢或許會有一些"退化的狀況"，特別是他
還有包含腳部、腳掌、膝蓋及臀部等部位的傷痛在。

"I know he's going to get in better shape as the season goes on," Jackson
said, and added, "Shaq can find a way to get it back and he's an NBA presence
to contend with."

The Suns play an up-tempo game in which they love to run. O'Neal is more of a
plodder and seems to have problems getting up and down the court.

Jackson was asked how O'Neal will fit into that system.
Jackson被問到，O'Neal是否能夠順利融入戰術？

"Well, taking the ball out of bounds and waiting for the other team to get
back," Jackson cracked. "I don't know."
Jackson說，"Well, 大概就是球發出去，等對方跑回來吧。我也不知道會怎樣。"

Gasol's Back Sore

Gasol (12 points, 7 rebounds) was fairly effective Wednesday against the
Hawks but not as much so as the previous night.
Gasol在今天對老鷹比賽中效率中等，拿到12分7籃板，但績效沒有前一晚好。

"My back is still pretty much the same, as far as being sore," said Gasol,
who exceeded 9,000 points in his career (9,002).

Kobe's Prayers Answered?

Kobe Bryant was asked about a quote attributed to him, in which his response
to the Gasol trade was, "There is a God."

"I've been praying and praying for us to have a team that we can really be
competitive with," Bryant said. "It used to keep me up at night. I'm sleeping
pretty good now."
Kobe說，"我一直都在祈禱，祈禱我們可以成為一隻很有競爭力的球隊。這一直都讓我睡不
好。而現在，我可以好好的睡了。"

Also: Bryant is scheduled to take part in the three-point shooting contest
Feb. 16 at All-Star weekend, though his injured right pinkie may make him
reconsider.
另外，Kobe仍預計要在2/16的全明星賽參加三分球大賽，雖然他的小指傷勢讓他還在重新
考慮中。
