[外電] Evans not bitter over departure from Lakers

ORLANDO -- It was going to be a pretty good Thanksgiving for Maurice Evans,
with much on his plate to be thankful for. Undrafted out of Texas, he had
played with four NBA teams in four years, interrupted by a two-season stint
in Europe.
對Maurice Evans來說感恩節是一件很棒的事，因為他有很多東西可以感激。從德州被揮

Finally, that changed this season. He was actually putting on the same
uniform he had had taken off at the end of last season, a Lakers uniform.

Evans' personal life was going well, too. He was engaged to be married.
Evans的生活也開始變好了，他也訂了婚。

Then, on Nov. 20, his world turned upside down. With the team in Indianapolis
to play the Pacers, Evans was summoned to Coach Phil Jackson's room where he
was informed that he and Brian Cook had been traded to the Orlando Magic for
Trevor Ariza.
然後今年的11/20號，他的世界開始朝正面的角度走去。在湖人於印第安那面對溜馬比賽
時，Evans被請到教頭Phil Jackson的房間裡，在那邊他被告知他將和Cook一起被送到魔

"There were a lot of good things happening," recalled Evans, who faces the
Lakers tonight. "I was really happy on the West Coast and suddenly I was
uprooted to the East Coast. It's something you have to deal with."
今天面對湖人的Evans說，"有好多好的事情發生了，我在西岸待得很開心，然後突然間我
就被迫被送到東岸去了。有些東西你還是得去調適。"

Evans has dealt with it just fine. A reserve with the Lakers, Evans has won a
starting job in the Magic backcourt and is averaging 8.2 points in 22.5
minutes, shooting 48.6% from the floor.
不過Evans調適得很不錯。他在湖人是替補球員，但他在魔術的後場找到了先發的位置，
而且幫魔術出場的比賽平均上場22.5分鐘，可得8.2分命中率48.6%的成績。 

Perhaps Evans' success can be traced to attitude. Rather than sulk about
being fitted for yet another uniform, he told himself it was a good thing.
或許Evans的成功可歸因於他的態度。他沒有因為被換到其他隊伍要得去適應的關係而感
到生氣，他一直告訴他自己這是件好事。

"I think, if a team trades for you, it means they want you," Evans said.
"Because I was undrafted, I have always had to prove myself on every team I
was on. Now I was on a team that was already convinced I could help them."
Evans說，"我認為，如果這支球隊願意交易你來，那就表示他們需要你。因為我曾被揮棄
過，我必須一直在每支球隊裡證明我自己。而現在我正待在一支球隊，他們也確信在這裡
我可以幫得上忙。"

Evans knew his limitations with the Lakers.

"Playing behind the best player in the world [Kobe Bryant], there wasn't much
room for growth," Evans said.

There is no bitterness in Evans' voice when he talks about Jackson, only
gratitude. Evans credits the Lakers coach with demonstrating the proper
mind-set for success.
當他談到Jackson時，在他的言談裡沒有任何痛苦的感覺，只有感恩。Evans讚美這位湖人
教頭教導他要有正確的心態去追求成功。

"No matter what was going on," Evans said, "he was always composed. He
doesn't panic no matter what kind of pressure situation the team is in. And
that confidence spread to the players. He made us feel there was nothing we
couldn't do, no situation we couldn't come back from. Even if we were down by
10 points with a minute to go."
Evans說，"無論什麼事情發生，他一直都表現得很沈著(入定？XD)。無論球隊處在什麼壓
力之下，他永遠都不會顯得恐慌。而這種自信會感染到每個球員身上。他讓我們覺得沒有
什麼是我們做不到的，沒有什麼處境是我們沒辦法挽回的。即便我們在比賽最後一分鐘，
我們還落後10分。"

Looks like Evans might have to get used to this uniform.
看起來，Evans會很習慣穿著魔術的球衣。
