How many wins and losses has Kobe produced?
Kobe究竟製造了多少W跟L呢？

This is the first in a series of posts where I will examine the win resumes
of various high profile NBA players in the 82games.com era (ie since
2002-03).  Within that era I have the precise "counterpart opponent"
information I need to calculate each player's "Marginal Win Score" and hence
each player's wins and losses produced.  Wins and losses, under my system,
are the product of the player's minutes (for every 240 minutes of action he
is responsible for one game) and the player's marginal statistical production
visavis the opponent players who played the same position as him at the same
time.

Analysis

As you can see, Kobe Bryant has been an excellent win producer for the Los
Angeles Lakers.  He has not, however, been an "elite" win producer except for
the 2007-08 season (his best production in the era).  When I refer to a
player as an "elite" win producer, I mean to suggest that the player's
production is/was so much better than his competition that he actually
created "negative losses" for his team.  Kobe's win production seems to
always flirt with the elite level, in that he consistently produces something
close to negative losses, but only twice has he actually ended the season
with negative losses.  Therefore, Kobe is what I refered to in a recent post
as a "High Purple" player -- a level two superstar.

如你所見，Kobe一直以來都是LA極佳的勝場製造機。
但他除了07-08球季之外在這方面的表現並不是「最」頂級的。
當我提到「最」的時候，意指這名球員遠勝他的對手們，
甚至製造的敗場相對於其他人來說是負值。
Kobe的表現一直以來都在最頂級的邊緣，
但只有兩季他真的達到了負值的神鬼數據。
因此，在這個系統之中，製造勝場的這方面，
Kobe只能算是略次一級的超級球員。

問題是那幾年的陣容跟戰術造成一個很大的問題：
關鍵時刻球根本只能落到Kobe一個人手上，
對方擺明了就是包夾到爆炸，
那哪來的傳導跟出手機會？
自然，難以出手的出手命中率要高當然也難上加難。)

Interestingly, Kobe's best two seasons have been his last two, and
furthermore it appears that Lakers coach Phil Jackson is able to get the best
out of Kobe Bryant and/or Kobe is at his best when he is surrounded by an
excellent cast.  As you can see from the chart, Kobe's performance dipped
somewhat dramatically after he lost Shaq as a teammate, but rose just as
dramatically around the time the team rehired Phil and bolstered its roster
back to championship level.

有趣的是，Kobe表現最好的兩季正是他的前兩季，
而這兩季正好是Phil把Kobe的能力徹底發揮出來，

Also, I have commented in the past that Kobe Bryant is much better playing
shooting guard than he is playing small forward.  The record does not support
such a claim.  Since '02-'03, Kobe has been about as marginally productive at
the 3 position as he has been at the 2 position, though his splits at each
position vary from season to season.

另外，我過去曾經提到Kobe在SG位置上的表現遠勝於他在SF的表現。
但紀錄並不支持這個論點。
自從02-03以來，Kobe在二三號位置上的表現是差距不大的，

One final note.  As you will see in my next post -- which will examine the
Win Resume of Shaquille O'Neal -- when Kobe and Shaq were teammates in LA,
Shaq was the better win producer, at least in their final two seasons.  Shaq
posted +4.00 Marginal Win Scores in each of the two seasons, and because of
that he piled up the negative losses for the Lakers.  The only limitation on
Shaq's production in his final Laker days was his inability to play a
traditional "full-time season" (at least 2900 minutes).  Perhaps that is why
the Lakers chose to keep Kobe and let Shaq go.

最後，在我的下一篇也將會看到的，將是Shaq的勝場履歷。
Shaq在湖人與Kobe攜手時，至少最後兩季，Shaq是個更強的勝利關鍵。
他在那兩季中製造了至少+4.0以上的勝分，
也因此為湖人製造了負敗場的紀錄。
他在後期唯一受到的限制是上場時間不足，
也許這正是湖人留下了Kobe而決定放掉Shaq的原因。

「有Shaq就有了半張挑戰總冠軍的門票。」
如果要說Kobe當時是靠Shaq拿下冠軍，
這其實完全是合理的，只不過反之亦然；
放在今天，如果要說沒有Gasol拿不到冠軍，
這也是合理的，
甚至可以說如果沒有Odom/沒有Ariza/沒有Fisher今年就拿不到冠軍，
因為這就是個顯而易見的事實；
只不過要用這麼簡單的理由來抹滅Kobe身為「現任」球隊第一人的事實，
那還真是有點弱掉了；
就如同說「因為Horry是投進關鍵球的男人所以Shaq當時不是球隊老大」一樣，
實在讓人忍俊不禁。)
