[外電] Lakers need what Fisher preaches, Odom promises

LOS ANGELES – Derek Fisher and Lamar Odom are, respectively, the head and
the heart of the team.

Fisher和Odom分別扮演湖人隊中重要的兩個角色。

And with the Lakers stumbling up to the crossroads of this post-championship
season, both Fisher and Odom came to share a vision Tuesday night.

今晚Odom和Fisher對於湖人最近幾場客場的挫敗，尤其是身為上季冠軍的身份
發表了一些看法。

They grew tired of their team being pulled left or right or backwards by
individual concerns or even resting comfortably with an eye peeking back at
the title already behind them.

上季得到冠軍的身分讓湖人隊被大部分球隊以不同眼光看待。大家都想證明
自己比他們更好。

As Fisher told his teammates in a compelling halftime speech and then Odom
told reporters in a fierce postgame rant, there is only way for the Lakers to
react to these crossed roads:

Go hard. Straight forward.

With the Lakers again being slow, cautious and indecisive en route to an
eight-point halftime deficit against Toronto, the coaches left the players
alone in the locker room an uncommonly long time. It was way too quiet on the
team's bench that first half, but it was downright silent in that locker room
of guys scared to lose a fourth consecutive game.

當湖人又一次的因為緩慢，注意力不集中導致半場落後給暴龍八分。爺爺
在中場休息時把球員們留在更衣室裡很長一段時間。板凳在上半場也很寂靜，他們害怕
嚐到四連敗的滋味。

Until Fisher spoke up.

直到Fisher開口。

"Just go out there and play hard," Andrew Bynum said the thrust of Fisher's
words were.

"我們就出去面對，"Bynum在Fisher講話時插嘴。

Fisher said he wanted the guys to put all their petty issues aside and stop
acting as if they were on the court only because they were being paid to be.
This is supposed to be what they love do to, so let loose and go get it.

Fisher說他想要隊友們把瑣碎的事放到一邊去，然後不要表現的好像來場上
打球只是想要領薪水而已。贏得比賽應該是他們喜歡做的事。

It's hardly the first time Fisher has morphed into, as Kobe Bryant calls him,
"Derek Obama." However, as Bynum noted about the speech after the Lakers
rallied to beat Toronto: "This was one that was really good."

這幾乎是Fisher第一次說出重話，而Kobe叫他德瑞克。歐巴馬。然而，

"He's definitely our leader," Bynum said. "He has the most experience. I

Bynum was clearly energized after the speech, scoring 11 third-quarter points
and doing the little things that he doesn't do enough. Bynum gave a second
effort after falling behind on one play and got a block from behind. He had
his hands up on defense and deflected a pass – not enough for a turnover,
but enough to enable the Lakers' defense to rotate to an open shooter.

The Lakers had earlier been tighter than Ron Artest's short shorts – more
afraid to lose than playing to win. That can happen to a defending champ,
because there seems to be no place to go but down.

Yet, as Fisher said, the only place to go – really – is forward.

Odom felt it, too. Like Bynum, Odom got energized. First half: no points, one
assist, two rebounds. Second half: 10 points, four assists, six rebounds.

Odom said he went out there looking to do everything hard, including foul.

Pau Gasol has stood there and talked about the Lakers being more assertive
many times, but never like this. Odom sat in his chair and faced his locker
while talking to reporters after the game, determined to shroud his usually
sunny disposition. Symbolically, he had turned his back on his teammates.

Gasol說湖人最近天天都在說這種話，但這次真的不一樣。(球迷:說真???)
Odom在賽後跟記者交談時，決定收起他平常的陽光個性。他背對著他的隊友們。

Odom was that disgusted the Lakers have looked as soft as many suspect.

He recalled his teammates bringing intensity early in the season, but said:
"Then they're like, that's too hard."

Even the fragments coming out of Odom's mouth were explosive.

"We're just so laid back right now. ... Our aura comes off like soft. ...
Just an energy thing. ... We've got to take it to teams. ... Way too
confident against us. ... Just get after it."

Odom is the guy who stands alone at the center of the Lakers' huddle just
before every tip-off to fire 'em all up. After that, he leads the bench
players in a separate primal scream. He is a connector and an energizer.

Odom每場球賽都在禁區裡為湖人擦屁股，包括補籃，進攻籃板等等。
不只這些，他還要帶著板凳球員在場上奮戰。

He had a lot to say to reporters about Orlando's Matt Barnes after he'd
pestered and preened at Bryant in the Lakers' loss Sunday. What Odom added
Tuesday night resoundingly explained why.

他對於星期天湖人輸給魔術那場比賽，Barnes對Kobe做的動作有很多話想說。

"That (expletive) that Matt Barnes pulled, that ain't never gonna happen
again," Odom said.

"那種行為不能再發生。"

Odom indicated he's inclined to take flagrant fouls or even draw a one-game
suspension to make clear that the Lakers must be determined and forceful to
move forward in this season.

Odom說他覺得那種行為該被判惡意犯規，或著甚至要禁賽一場。藉此顯示
湖人不是好欺負的!

A frustrated Gasol did draw a flagrant foul in Orlando by throwing a high,
hard one at Dwight Howard. Any assertion of power grows somewhat muted,
however, when you thereafter chase the referees around the court explaining
that you actually fouled the arms and not the head and insisting that you
didn't mean to do it.

另一方面，Gasol那場比賽對魔獸做出了惡意犯規。但Gasol之後不斷追著裁判

That's the sort of thing that prompts Odom to imagine himself as a Lakers
opponent and think: "Damn, we could beat them. I'm going to go in there and
mix it up."

"They think that we're soft," Odom said, "and that's not going to happen
(anymore)."

As we all know, the only way to embrace life and do great things is by going
forward with a plan and a passion. The Lakers' head and heart have rarely
been united this season to produce a team as smart and strong as this one
should be.

該有的樣子。

Fisher and Odom agree now that it's time to run, not walk or stand around or
count your shots. Odom is prepared to race through this crossroads and tackle
an oncoming train. Fisher still has his head, but he understands completely
all that Odom senses.

Fisher和Odom認為現在這個時候該衝刺了。Odom已經準備好在接下來的連續
客場之旅給對手下馬威。Fisher也完全認同Odom。

Think back to last spring, when Fisher made a statement long before he
brushed the nets with those pretty 3-pointers in Orlando: He blasted
Houston's Luis Scola, and the scar on Fisher's scalp from that stays much
closer to him than any championship ring can ever be worn.

回想去年春天，Fisher發表完言論不久後，他在對魔術時投進那顆重要三分。
雖然他一定有被Scola詛咒，但被詛咒的回饋就是得到冠軍戒指。

"Thus far we haven't come across as invincible or unbeatable, so of course
teams' chests are going to be up a little bit more as they really believe
that they can win," Fisher said. "It's not so much about having to start
fights and do things that are out of your character in order to prove
something different. But we definitely need to (change) – not just in
physical toughness, but just in how we play: an efficiency and a focus and a
concentration and an intensity. That's what teams need to feel."

"因為我們不是無敵的，所以其他隊伍當然會認為他們可以打敗我們。"
Fisher說。 "我們不能忘記我們的責任，所以一場爭鬥無可避免。我們絕對需要改變，
不只是身體接觸上的強硬，還有我們怎麼去組織每波進攻，進攻的效率，還有專注力。
這是球隊需要去做的。"

Yes, the Lakers must go forward strong in mind and body. Otherwise, they'll
have to live with something else in both head and heart.

沒錯，湖人的身心都需要在強硬點。不然Odom和Fisher又要開口摟。
