LO's Huge Third Quarter Brings a Ring

The Los Angeles Lakers needed a full team effort to take Game 7 of the NBA
Finals on Thursday night.

洛杉磯湖人隊需要隊上所有全力以赴，爭取周四NBA總冠軍戰第七場的勝利。

They needed Pau Gasol’s gargantuan double-double. They needed Kobe Bryant’s
rebounding rampage when his shot wasn't falling and they needed Ron Artest’s
offensive outburst to carry the weight of the scoring.

湖人隊需要Pau Gasol卓越的雙十表現，
需要Kobe Bryant在他手感不佳的時候所作的籃板保護，
也需要Ron Artest的爆走進攻來把那些分數放在記分板上。

But maybe more than anything else, the Lakers needed Lamar Odom’s third
quarter, because all the Package did was save the Lakers' season.

Lamar scored seven points and grabbed seven rebounds, and the Lakers claimed
their second consecutive Larry O'Brien trophy with an 83-79 victory over the
Boston Celtics. Though he was active all night, filling in aptly for a
limited Andrew Bynum, the third quarter was when LO shined on the biggest
stage.

THE THIRD

Clocking into the game with 7:43 left in the third quarter, LO entered a
fight that was being thoroughly controlled by the Boston Celtics, who held a
six-point lead after two. Their command continued after halftime, and Boston
opened the third with a 9-2 run, stretching their lead to 13 points.

離第三節結束還有七分四十三秒，LO在這場目前為止被綠衫軍全然掌控局面的比賽中被放
到場上，上半場打完他們取得了六分領先，而賽隊的攻擊在半場休息過後持續著，第三節
開場他們打出一波9-2，拉開他們的領先到13分之遙。

But that all changed when LO brought his relentless energy into the game.

In the first half, Lamar had hit a free throw and grabbed a rebound, but the
big man must have been saving his best for last. Lamar would never leave the
floor again upon his third quarter reentry and the course of the contest was
turned on its end.

不過這個大隻佬肯定是把他的精華全部投注於這時候了，
Lamar自此打完關鍵的第三節，而這使得這場比賽的結果，風雲變色。

Six seconds after he checked in, No. 7 hit Kobe Bryant for a jumper to cut
the Lakers deficit from 12 to 10. A minute later, Lamar fed Derek Fisher for
a runner and suddenly LA had life.

他上場後六秒鐘，紫金七號配合Kobe Bryant來一個跳投，將落後的比數拉近到10分，
一分鐘後，Lamar和 Fisher合璧又來了一波，天使城瞬間有活過來的感覺。

On the Celtics end of the floor, Rajon Rondo cut to the bucket and put a lay
up high off the glass, but the shot wouldn't fall and LO collared the
rebound. He controlled the pace, took two dribbles then pushed it to Ron
Artest. Though Artest's layup was too strong, Lamar gave all-out effort on
the follow to convert his first basket of the night, cutting Boston's edge
down to six.

這時候，塞爾提克後衛Rajon Rondo切入並且利用籃板來一個上籃，
但是這球沒有進而LO拿下了這個籃板，
他控制了節奏，運了兩下之後傳給Ron Artest，Artest沒有進球，
但是Lamar全力跟進讓他補進了這球，這是全場他第一個進球，距離波士頓還有六分。

Paul Pierce hit a three to briefly stall LA's momentum, but Lamar kept the
Lakers within range with a drive to the bucket for the finger roll to make it
a seven-point game. After Rasheed Wallace and Kobe Bryant traded buckets, LO
pulled in another defensive board, giving the Lakers a possession that led to
two Pau Gasol points and the Celtics lead was just five.

Paul Pierce進了一個三分球壓制了LA的士氣，
但是Lamar 用一個壓肩的切入將比賽拉回七分，
讓波士頓保持在追擊的射程範圍之內。在Rasheed和Kobe造成的攻守交換之後，

LA would keep it close for the rest of the quarter and had a chance to really
cut into the lead with a minute to go in the third when Shannon Brown clanged
a finger roll off the rim. Charging in from the three point line, No. 7 made
the heart and hustle play that changed the series. He went up and under the
rim to try and tip it in. When that went long, he hauled in his own board on
the other side of the basket, landed on his feet and put it back in with his
left hand.

湖人隊為何能保持著很小的分差進入最後一節而且有機會真正翻盤，
第三節結束前一分鐘Shannon Brown空手切入並有大好的機會放進兩分，
LO不再站在三分線外，紫金七號試著用他的意志和硬漢打法改變一切，
他跟進而且在籃底下補進這兩分，當投出的球太長，
他在籃圈的另一邊先點了一下，掌握好球站穩之後用左手放進。

The quarter ended and the Lakers were down just four.

這一節打完，湖人隊只落後四分。

In six minutes, Lamar had scored six points, grabbed five rebounds and dished
two dimes. The Lakers went from staring down defeat to seizing both momentum
and eventually the game. The statistics told the same story as No. 7's
plus/minus for the game led all Lakers at +13. In a game decided by just four
points, the Lakers outscored Boston by 13 when The Package was in the game.

在他上場的六分鐘內，Lamar拿了六分，抓了五個籃板，拋頭顱灑熱血。
湖人隊從可能被擊敗的深淵爬了起來，而掀起了驚濤駭浪式的反攻，回到了這場比賽。
數據也表示紫金七號的plus/minus +13在這場比賽中領銜全湖人隊，
比賽的勝負只差四分，湖人最後克服了13分的落後頹勢，讓賽隊遺憾打包。

LO had brought the Lakers back from the brink and a title was his reward.

LO真的把湖人從邊緣拉了回來，贏了這個冠軍之後，可別忘了他的功勞。
