PHILADELPHIA – Lamar Odom was singing in the shower after the Lakers' last
game, so things must be looking up for the two-time defending champions.
Odom在上場比賽結束後在沖澡時悠閒的唱著歌，讓我們來瞧瞧這兩屆總冠軍的近況。
When the Lakers are feeling confident and capable, Odom's light spirit is as
much a trademark of the team as Kobe Bryant's heat-seeking glares.

After the Lakers won in Indiana on Wednesday night, Odom finished singing,
waltzed out of the shower and made an absolutely hilarious, vulgar,
unrepeatable-even-on-a-Kardashian-show comment about why everyone should stay
out of his way as he reached his locker.
在湖人擊敗溜馬後，Odom停止了唱歌。接著他邊跳著華爾滋邊搞笑的要大家不要擋著

Then Odom jumped into the interview being conducted nearby, stepping into Ron
Artest's hesitation to explain what was the difference between this game and
the one the Lakers lost to the Pacers two weeks ago.

"We had more points," Odom cracked.

Artest smiled and ran with it.

"I think when you score more," Artest said super-slowly, "I think you win."

Soon enough, Odom, Artest & Co. were outta there and headed for a tasty
postgame meal at Steak 'n Shake, the Midwest and Southeast's equivalent to
In-n-Out Burger. (Yes, sweet-toothed Lamar felt after 17 rebounds that he had
earned himself a shake.)
接著Odom跟Artest就一起去吃一家好吃的牛排館。(愛吃甜食的Odom這場抓了17個板，
也許他認為該打賞一下自己。)
The Lakers have become confident and capable again – their second-longest
trip of the season coinciding with the season debut of Andrew Bynum and
giving them a chance to center themselves anew.
湖人再度展露出了王者氣息--這是他們本季第二長的客場之旅。同時Bynum也從傷兵
名單回歸，讓告急的禁區總算舒解了些。
The trip did begin with a loss in Chicago, where Artest started his NBA
career, and he was so anxious about the defeat and his two-point game on
1-for-6 shooting that he didn't even wait to hear Odom not sing in the
shower. Artest bolted from the locker room in Chicago's United Center.
這個客場之旅剛開始就輸給了公牛，雖然這裡是Artest生涯的起點，但Artest在那裡

He did not hit the corner liquor store for some Hennessy. He hit the
treadmill for the next hour and half.

"He uses physical activity to bring him down," Phil Jackson said, referring
to Artest's natural "hyperactivity."

But the Lakers then won in New Jersey, won by more in Washington and won by
even more in Indiana – Artest's other initial home NBA city. (Yes, Ron did

The victory over the Pacers is worth a closer examination, because it was one
of those regular-season classics for superhero teams ... unbuttoning the
dress shirt in a crisis situation just enough to show the "S" is still
underneath.

The Lakers are rarely the team that wants it more than the other in any given
regular-season game. But if they do want it more, they should win – and look
great winning.

That's just what happened in Indiana. The Lakers sought revenge after seeing
a game-video edit with snippets of Roy Hibbert doing jumping jacks and Danny
Granger bumping every chest at Staples Center after beating the Lakers on
Nov. 28. In a team huddle, the players asked each other to remember.
就是前幾天在印地安納那場比賽那種。湖人觀看了敵隊幾名大將的比賽錄影，看到了
Hibbert跟Granger在擊敗湖人後興高采烈的樣子，還有其他球員聚在一起歡呼。湖人
隊員們要求彼此都要記得這一幕。
"They just knocked us on our heels," Indiana's Mike Dunleavy said after the
game.
"我們被徹底擊垮了，"Dunleavy賽後這麼說。
The Lakers explained that it wasn't anything personal with the Pacers
regarding their L.A. party. The Lakers just wanted to make things right with
their own world again.

"It's really our fault," Matt Barnes said. "They took it to us from the jump
in L.A., and they beat us."

It helps that Bynum is back, even in a minor capacity.

"I feel more explosive," Gasol said.

Gasol responded actively to Indiana's fronting, high-siding defense –
stepping out to hit shots. His offensive creativity has become stifled
lately playing center all the time. He has longed to spend at least part of
his court time facing up at power forward given how much he enjoys mixing up
his attacks.

You also know Gasol has been wanting to get some rest during games, instead

In this game, it was Bynum's stamina that Jackson challenged – the coach
said lack of conditioning is the reason he won't start him yet – with 12
consecutive second-half minutes giving Drew a taste of the Pau treatment.
在下半場讓Bynum連續打了12分鐘後，但Phil對Bynum的身體狀況感到質疑，他認為
Bynum的狀況還沒好到可以打先發。
"Drew was tired," Jackson said. "He was exhausted."

Still, the Lakers were winning, 98-79, with 5:56 left when Jackson rather
peculiarly sent Bryant, Gasol and Artest back into the game. Jackson said he
wanted to keep the Pacers to fewer than 100 points, and the coach is also big
on carrying momentum out of a game. Gasol's body language made abundantly
clear he wasn't thrilled about going back in. Yet sure enough, Bryant stepped
up out of his seat and right into two dagger-ific shots.
在第四節剩6分左右時，湖人以98-79領先著。Phil讓Kobe,Gasol和Artest回到了場上。
他說他不想讓溜馬拿超過100分。而他說他有在觀察著大家，他認為Gasol絕對還有體力
體力繼續打。Kobe上場後依然銳利的進了兩球。
It just reinforced the whole feeling of where the Lakers are now.
這讓現在的湖人更增強了信心。
They never stopped thinking they were hot stuff.
他們從不認為自己不是奪冠熱門。
But if a woman gets herself all dolled up for a night on the town, it is
reassuring to hear those whistles again.
