騎士隊老闆D. Gilbert稱當今這個有關於CP3去湖人隊的交易為一個天大的玩笑,
他並且要求NBA總裁D.Stern舉辦一次由其他29隊老闆參加的投票活動
D. Gilbert在星期四寄了以下這封信給D.Stern和A.Silver(NBA副總裁)和一些
他騎士隊的同儕.

: Commissioner,
: It would be a travesty to allow the Lakers to acquire Chris Paul in the
: apparent trade being discussed.
: This trade should go to a vote of the 29 owners of the Hornets.
: Over the next three seasons this deal would save the Lakers approximately $20
: million in salaries and approximately $21 million in luxury taxes. That $21
: million goes to non-taxpaying teams and to fund revenue sharing.
去討論湖人隊能擁有CP3的交易本身就是一個天大的笑話,
這個交易需要其他29個黃蜂隊老闆的投票才能通過.
在未來的三個球季,湖人能因為這個交易省下薪資約20M美金並且省下豪華稅約21M美金
而那21M美金都將拿去贊助未超過豪華稅的球隊(我想大概是有可能或許包括騎士隊)
: I cannot remember ever seeing a trade where a team got by far the best player
: in the trade and saved over $40 million in the process. And it doesn’t
: appear that they would give up any draft picks, which might allow to later
: make a trade for Dwight Howard. (They would also get a large trade exception
: that would help them improve their team and/or eventually trade for Howard.)
: When the Lakers got Pau Gasol (at the time considered an extremely lopsided
: trade) they took on tens of millions in additional salary and luxury tax and
: they gave up a number of prospects (one in Marc Gasol who may become a
: max-salary player).
我不記得看過一個交易能得到一個聯盟最佳的球員並且還能去節省40M美金.
而且還不包括放棄任何的選秀權,而這選秀權極有可能會讓湖人得到D.Howard
(他們也有可能因此得到很大數量的trade exception來得到D.Howard或是改善球隊結構)
當湖人得到P.Gasol時(在當時是被認為是極度畸形的交易)他們負擔好幾千萬的薪資以及
豪華稅,並且放棄了為數不少的有天份的球員(M.Gasol)

我真的不懂為什麼我們要讓這樣的交易成功
我知道大部份的老闆都跟我有一樣的想法,
不知道我們什麼時候把NBA中的25隊改名為Washington Generals?

事實上聯盟阻止這筆交易是因為某些籃球相關的原因
