According to ESPN LA Lakers beat writer, Dave McMenamin, Andrew Bynum will
visit with Dr. David Altchek today to receive a Synvisc injection into his
right knee to help maintain the relatively good health Drew has been
experiencing so far this season.

Averaging 16.3 points, 12.8 rebounds and over 2 blocks a game, Andrew has
also done the once-thought, impossible and played in every game this season
he was eligible for. The only four games he missed were due to a suspension
from last year’s incident in the playoffs.

If you look at Andrew as a big rig, the Synvisc injection acts as axle grease
to keep his knees pain free from the constant rubbing of cartilage and build
of scar tissues. These are necessary treatments for Andrew after his surgery
in 2010 that repaired torn cartilage in his knee.
