我所謂的代表某個地點
並不一定是真的是一個地方
在英文裡
in the story,in this case
廣義來說也算是一個地方副詞(表示在某個限定範圍內，不一定是地點)
所以它也可以用where來代替
如您所說的用in which也是可以的

最後這個問題是很多人常常搞混的
這裡的where引導的並不是形容詞子句
而是名詞子句
where本身也不是關係副詞了
所以他代表的就僅僅只是一個地方
因此會加一個to
因為是go to someplace
就好像I don't know who you are.
您不能說這是省略了先行詞the person的關代
這是要分清楚的
最簡單的方法是只要記得
關代引導的子句稱作形容詞子句
表示他是做形容詞用的
而名詞子句則是用來當主詞和受詞(像上面是用來當know的直接受格)
在兩個子句中where,when之類的角色是不同的
用法自然也不同
至於最後一個問題
Where are you going?也是很多人說啦
雖然文法上不是那麼完美
